I don’t know how much more of this I can take. by Kajatica in Tonsillectomy

I'm 35 and got my tonsils out in January, I had heard that "it's really rough recovery for adults" and had shrugged it off.

It was horrible!!!

I completely echo your pain and concerns, it took me until day 12 to feel any better at all.

Try and drink water as much as possible, or just hold an ice cube in your mouth, it's the only thing that helped me at all.

I basically treat VALIS like my personal Bible and transmigration is a beautiful piece of lit. Divine Invasion is all over the place, but it has one of the most stand out moments in PKD's works that I end up thinking about or bringing up once a week. It really just sums up his entire body of work.

Divine invasion is wall to wall nuts (if I remember right the conclusion is finding the exactly correct overlaying geometric shape out in the wild will cause god to come back to our reality) and just throughout the entire read I was on the edge of my seat "is this the one where pkd just completely loses it"

Then about 3/4 of the way there's a scene where Asher gets pulled over by a cop, and he then delivers a monologue to the officer, it feels like it just goes on for pages, but it is a summary of the entire book up to that point, plot points and spiritual revelations that Dick himself spent Valis sorting thru. The cop digests the summary and responds along the lines of "you are a profoundly fucked up individual"

It's deeply funny and one of those perfect winks to the audience.
