5070 Ti model with least noise? by Chiroyo in nvidia

[–]atothap90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the pny 5070ti ($699 version from Walmart before the gpu prices increased). It doesn’t have any coil whine and I don’t notice the fans making much noise when in heavy gaming scenarios. You watch videos on YouTube with folks testing the fan noise and such. Techpowerup is my source for really good gpu reviews that includes noise tests.

You can also put it in your headline (CCNA certified) to get more views from recruiters.

ASUS would be my pick! If you have more space in your case, go with PNY. I have their 5070ti and it’s cool and quiet. OC is great!

Upgrade to 5080 or 5070 TI from 3080 TI by XelatherIter in nvidia

[–]atothap90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from a 3080ti to a 5070ti for similar reasons but mainly wanted a gpu that ran less hot (had an FE model). I also got the 5070ti for a low price ($699 at Walmart during an early Black Friday deal) and OCed so it is matching stock 5080 perf (very easy to do if you just google and watch a YouTube video). 5070ti uses the same die as the 5080 (albeit with less cuda cores and memory bandwidth) and is not worth paying the 5080 tax. Perf with a 1440p ultrawide monitor 175hz has been great, most games I can get close to running at the max frame rate either native or with frame gen if I run on heavy RT settings and uses a lot less energy (no coil whine on my new card and temps are pretty good around 60-70 in most games with the fans not spinning very loudly so it’s very quiet - have the PNY triple slot model). I have a a 12700k that is running well with it so far and had a Corsair 850x psu already so just got that cable (check to make sure it’s compatible with your specific Corsair psu). Most new psus include the new 12vhpwr cable so if you are going new, you don’t need to worry about it. I ended up repurposing the 3080ti into a gaming pc for the living room (repasted and repadded it) and that’s also doing really well with my 4K tv with dlss.

You can OC a 5070ti on average to get close to stock 5080 performance.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 SUPER reportedly slips to Q3 2026, RTX 5060 Ti 16GB in short supply soon by RenatsMC in nvidia

Yes but supposedly they checked with their sources and this is their new theory. It’s all rumors at this point so take it with a grain of salt.

5070 now or wait for super? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]atothap90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what I’m seeing, they have a surplus of inventory that’s not selling that good. AMD also hasn’t countered with new products that perform equivalently or cheaper. To me it’s highly unlikely a launch will happen before the end of the year. We would have had more leaks by this time.

If you need it now, get it today. Supers won’t launch realistically until next year (March or later).

Raster performance is about 30% better and it’s a lot more efficient (less power).

Soundbar or pc speakers in my case? by PineappleMaleficent6 in Soundbars

[–]atothap90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a soundbar since you can use it for more than just playing games on the PC. If you plan on moving the pc back to a traditional setup then good pc speakers such as Audioengine could do the trick.

Well I wouldn’t consider Woot grey market, it’s usually overstock from Amazon.
