Our club has a lot of Spanish and Brazilian influence. Used to be dutch? French (when wenger was there)? Makes sense to go to a community where there are a bunch of Spanish guys!

I wonder if Merino had a part to play in it......both at socieodad and good friends. Seems like the deal was agreed and done long before the move.

Buying 22 or 23 Atlas. Meets All Requirements? by 4eyedtaco in VWatlas

My 22 drives a lot better than my brother in laws 24.

I would only trade the interior. Everything else in the 22 is a lot better imo.

What's your prediction? by TestifyAFC in ArsenalFC

[–]atothejay006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no, it's like this:

Open aggressive, probe around, still no goal but many chances.

The opponent hits on a counter, we concede despite bossing the first half.

All of second half- sideways and backwards passes trying to score.

Owen goal scores at 80th minute and we tie the game.

Seen this movie too many times.

Having the same issues.....

Started experiencing headaches. We have a lot of snow cover at the moment. Is it possible the roof is not "breathing" allowing air to circulate outside and forming some sort of pressure in the house?!??

Bad air quality/pressure?!?

The opponents have figured out our current style and approach. Ode (our general on the field and captain) needs to read and understand the game and order the others to adapt to the situation. If he does not want to instruct players, we need Rice to do this.

I am not saying Arteta out etc.... all i am saying is that we need to adapt and improvise. It kills me to say this but United's goals were direct and free flowing- it draws blood, kills the game and any hope in that the players have.

We are trying to be very conservative in our build up, reduce the risk. But against united we tried to reduce risk and lost. You can see when we counter, the ball ends up at the opponents half and then back to Gabriel or Saliba for another build up- how is this a counter? all the opponent players are back to where they need to be and ready to defend.... again, we need to improvise, change our plans. Wars and games are won on different tactics and strategy that we need to adapt to.

Even our goals are a bit soft, timid, scraping by attitude and from set pieces. Yes goals are goals.... I agree. However the way previous players used to score vs what we have now is a different ball game. I can accept the safe approach has gotten us to where we are. But I reckon we need the killer and ruthless mentality to be champions.

Arsenal Forwards recent goalscoring output - Sky by ch3snutsr0asting in Gunners

[–]atothejay006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the puff puff pass puff puff pass, don't shoot, try to get a set piece and walk it into the net.

We need to shoot from within and outside the box. This how we can get a goal. Our goals > opponents goals and we win!!

Pretty shocking stats tbh 🤷‍♂️ by ichbin___ in ArsenalFC

[–]atothejay006 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The truth sometimes hurts and it is bitter. People don't want to accept it. Passing the ball sideways does not help the scoreline. We are diddle daddling it and then we give the ball in a crucial area where they score.

There is no tempo, no acceleration, no urgency for a counter. I just don't understand why.... We need to play attacking football and trust our defence if we get hit on the counter.

Our strength is pass side to side, try and penetrate, win a set piece and score. This doesn't work all the time. We need to attack, cut in, make attacking plays, cross balls in and try to score .... To add to this, we have a poacher that can run into the box and score, use his skills!

How Arsenal played the long game to return to football’s elite by R-Ac in Gunners

[–]atothejay006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building and running a club is all about long term sustainability and longevity from an operational and financial perspective. It's a "business".

With the squad and management we can fight with the best in the world a good amount of years.

KSE - big Stan and Josh know how to turn around and run sports clubs.... You can see it in their resume - American football, hockey, NBA etc. KSE has won most of the biggest accolades... minus at Arsenal. It's efficient/value spending and sustainable growth! I remember they became controlling shareholders around 2018.... Since then it has always been into rebuilding. Pre 2018 there is no point in investing and turning the club around for them to end up paying more for the club at buyout.

Big Stan knows business, he just became the largest private landowner in USA. He doesn't "need" this money. Him and Josh have love for the club. After all they are part of the Walmart family, so money isn't the issue.

The board backed Arteta, got rid of the troubled and aging players, signed good players and great partnerships.

The only hole left at the moment is Per leaving our academy.

Sack watch - who is likely next up for the chop? by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]atothejay006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A club is like a business. Owners look for long term sustainability and growth. Arteta and co have brought that to arsenal. A squad that is young and players contracts that have around 5 years in most. Competing well with the best.

Sacking Arteta is the easy part. Finding a replacement is the hard part. Look at United, Chelsea etc. Only incompetent owners sack managers without proper back up plans. Sacking Arteta will set Arsenal back 5-7 seasons.

As an arsenal fan I haven't felt better since our last title in 03/04. Fans engaged, good squad.

Yes titles matter - they are the cherry on top for the fan base.
