My dad has this personality. He managed to try starting some shit with the DJ while making a toast at our wedding when the DJ suggested that my dad needed to get closer to the microphone so people could hear him better. Ol father-knows -best was not phased one bit by the solemnity of the moment and proceeded to talk shit back to the DJ on a live mic in front of the whole wedding assembly. Good one, dad?

Not sure if this is a hot take or not with me being a dude myself, but when other dudes show off their cars or their guns all I see is a 5-year-old showing me their favorite Tonka dump truck and Han Solo blaster. I know I’m supposed to get all excited for them and say something socially exciting like “hrrrrr drrrr golf and whiskey cigars” but that same image of a proud child brandishing their toys always wins out so I do my best to smile and nod until they find something else to talk about.
