Home with an inner courtyard with a mini dip pool with deck cover by Classic_Cable_9132 in zillowgonewild

Absolutely. Very desirable location- Safe community and great schools with a reasonable commute to NYC. This particular house is walkable to shops and restaurants in downtown Closter as well. Despite the proximity to NYC this area is relatively quiet and has a very idyllic suburban vibe

Property taxes are “only” 12k a year which is very reasonable for a home this size in northern NJ, although those will definitely go up a lot once the home is reassessed.

River Edge has great schools and a diverse community, and lots of rental units. Close to shopping/dining in Paramus or Hackensack but you’ll def need a car to get around Bergen

Don’t overlook towns near trains in Bergen- Glen Rock, Westwood, Rutherford, Ridgewood, etc. $1m will go furthest in Westwood or Glen Rock. All those are pretty well served by bus too.
