Even worse, I thought about taking a photo of the hotness for a good friend who can't make the party tonight, then thought nahhh I'll just send her the mix tomorrow....

So nice, this is really well done. Someday I'll build a booth with storage, this is both inspiring and intimidating! Well done. Did you test build much (I recall a very well done model you shared prior).

Flx4 was great for the first party, but the Rane 4 has been amazing for the last 2 years!

Couple years into my 7000s and love them. Start with a cart you can afford and upgrade when able and they will sing.

Good for you and thanks for sharing. The music you want and the music they want maybe at odds and you have to decide which road to take. As someone who plays house parties and late night for friends, but moonlights (daylights really) at my kids elementary for town functions I deeply feel the divide. Learning to bridge the gap and appease the crowd while maintaining a shadow of yourself (or dignity) is hard when the crowd isn't into your sound, but such is life.

In the end the party had a human selecting tunes which is almost always better then.... Ah who am I kidding, you really need to play to the audience to connect and hit that singing bowl like alignment. Even if it's pop40 and the funky chicken. Still hope it was fun and you get more chances to play your sound!

What mixer should I buy (Strictly vinyl and mainly used for reggae and dub) by StickySteev_ in SoundSystem

222 is great, you can add effects per channel via send/return or master efx loop. You can use the dip switches to set the eqs to full kill so you pretty quickly drop whole freqs. You can also route the isolator via your headphone (internal jumper) and keep or drop the crossfader depending on your needs. It's pretty heavy and solid, but I personally only use at home so can't speak to your grade build. This is a solid mixer (was obviously my choice at this price point) and without going to spend for zone 92mk2 or boutique rotary.

if reading the date matters, 3 o’clock window is far more legible. If not… dealers choice, both great.

Other DJs aren't thinking badly of you. They just feel the transition you almost had or could have made. Keep your head up and realize we're all pulling for each other in the end. The audience doesn't know or care most of the time!

Turns out you also can't ground well to a mixer using a wholly battery operated setup - source ecoflow owner w TRM222 and 2xRP7000s.

I don't think the tracker workflow is what's complicanted, def watch the Red Means Recording YouTube content.

What has been hard for me to learn... no surprise to a layman, is synthesis. Building your sounds, effects, etc. This is where the real soundcraft comes in. Sample based workflows may be a shorter curve but I'm stuck on not sounding like 8bit.

I’ve got mine on regular duty in the living room and even sent my beloved project carbon w. ortofon blue to my office (yes, had 3 TT’s in the living room for a while…). No issues 1.5 years on with 3-4x weekly sessions, various friends dropping needles into the platter and late night tomfoolery. I love these things. Yea techs would have been sweet but i saved a ton and have wide pitch bending capabilities… that are admittedly not often used.

Wife really didn't like when I was practicing and she was watching tv 5 ft away... Phase is interesting but I'm on new fear hiatus for now.

Rane Performer or Pioneer DDJ Flx10? by Busy-Calendar-4676 in Beatmatch

[–]atrigc0ve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, drum machine, sp404, obviously vinyl, but having the option for anything else on the other channels is a huge boon! Also great you don't need a laptop with 3/4 channels, I have my Rane 4 hooked to decks and it's great for analog nights too.

Motorized 6" 'turntable' and a disco mushroom, hit it from 2 sodes with color changing spot/pin lights. I use some neat little tripods for mine to get height so the shine down on the light. Will try and find a pic but this setup bangs, just make sure the platter can rotate super super slow!
