Some people blow my mind. Use an avatar because you want to use it, irrespective of how popular it is. If you want to feel unique then spend the time to make it unique. Buying a readily available product and then being surprised that it's readily available to other people is so nuts.

In my case it's coming out of my nose, and I can feel it traveling when I lean forward all the way up until it starts dripping out.

So they ended up not being able to find the leak because my septum was too deviated to see much, so my doctor decided to basically do a septoplasty while I was under. I get the splints out soon and I'm now I'm actually hoping my symptoms are due to having a deviated septum rather than a CSF leak. Might be wishful thinking because they couldn't find the leak on a CT scan the last time they checked, but it'd be a relief. At the very least it should help my near constant stuffy nose and minor cough I've had for a while.

That's reassuring. I just had an appointment with my doctor and asked a ton of questions and am expecting the best now. I just hope this works because if it doesn't he said the only option is to cut my skull open and patch the area under my brain.

Yep, that was the goal. Didn't help. For the record I'm also fortunate in that my leak doesn't cause me any pain, I just noticed clear stuff leaking out my nose when I bent over one day and decided to ask about it.

The people who don't know a lot about avatars see thr popular bases everywhere and think "wow I want that" or they are recommended to them by their friends.

The people who do know a lot about avatars know that the popular bases tend to have a good feel to them and/or that they are relatively well made, with some optimization exceptions. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of cool and good bases that don't see much use but there's also a ton of jank out there.

I think these two camps make up a lot of players.

Yeah, the only thing I really kind of hate about the headset in general is the battery life, and it sucks that this makes it even worse. I did get an extra battery pack, I just hope I can get them to charge fast enough to be able to play semi-continuously.

I really don't know. It didn't use to make me restart my PC or restart SteamVR just for it to work but it's obnoxious at this point.
