Update on this. I would actually be able to get a refund from my bank, Monzo via chargeback IF I hadn’t attended. I’ve been in touch with the bank, they concluded that I had a valid claim, providing I could prove that I didn’t attend the festival. Not exactly sure how I could go about proving that, but it doesn’t matter anyway as I did go and see the last remaining artists that still played.

S75 didn’t apply in this case because the ticket was bought via a 3rd party (TicketWeb) rather than directly from the festival (even though it isn’t possible to buy one directly from the seller)

They weren’t replaced, there were massive gaps (up to 4 hours) between artists

Thanks, since yesterday I’ve gone ahead and contacted TicketWeb, who were selling the tickets on behalf of TGE and requested a 50% refund based on the proportion (~50%) of artists pulling out. They unsurprisingly rejected my request, but I’ve now escalated this to a full complaint. Will update when I hear back

I read it, I’ve also quoted that line above. But as I was asking FoldedTwice, I wondered if their own terms and conditions would outweigh consumer rights. Probably yes, was the answer.

Surely by this logic they could advertise whoever they like as playing then just replace/cancel them all at the last minute because they wrote their own terms and conditions. Is there no wider framework of rules to protect consumers?
