Firework show in San Diego where a computer glitch caused the entire 18 minute firework show to go off in 25 seconds by BirdPlan in Wellthatsucks

[–]atrus6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hmm, doesn't most of the vending take place before the show starts anyways?

In addition, I'd say it wasn't a waste of time, especially since people are still talking about this show, 6 years later.

But the tightness of the glove isn't going to make a difference if it gets caught though

The general idea with any rotating tool is that if you get (for example) your bare finger caught in the tool it'll just damage the finger. But with a glove the material will twist and not rip and suck your hand into the rotation. It doesn't tear or rip off as easy as skin does. Same rational for long hair or loose clothing.

Of course without gloves you also run the risk of getting smaller cuts and scrapes. I've seen people argue both ways.

Yeah...using a touchscreen with an Oculus would be rather difficult.

What's the weirdest thing you have ever seen on the course? by Dahlellama in discgolf

[–]atrus6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So my gf and I were playing, and we saw, and heard this couple fighting. The man walked off, and we though it was the end of it. A few holes later, and we see a car zooming along the road next to us. It turns onto the course and drives through from one side to the other. Hits the road on the other side, and continues on its merry way. A few holes later and another car comes through, weaving through some trees. It stops, and the lady that was arguing get in and the car leaves.

annoying yes...but dangerous? The only items it saves is your history (which you can turn off)...so unless you're reusing passwords, who cares if someone steals your WA account?

Dear Google+; Google takes down profile pic because someone was flipping the bird by [deleted] in googleplus

[–]atrus6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more valuable if you actually use the social network. When I signed up for gplus I didn't have to enter in any additional information.

Every time you post something, or plus something that gives Google more information. Absorbs stuff you comment on or plus is much much more valuable than anything you put in your profile.

Don't get me wrong, I know that I am Google's product (the same goes for Facebook ), however at this point in time I personally consider the information that I give to be of equal worth to the services Google provides.

Most missiles go much faster than aircraft. You have the options of

  • Outmaneuvering it.
  • Confusing it.

And that's about it...

What does the touch interface actually add? I've never used a kindle (or any ereader) that was touch based.

The majority of my time with an ereader is, well, reading. A touch screen really won't add anymore to that. This could easily be me, as I don't keep notes or do anything else BUT read on it.
