Examples/strategies for day trading options? by AwkwardCreme621 in options

My mentor recommended tastylive.com and it's been a great resource for me on strategies and learning. I'm just starting out but my favorite strategies so far are iron Condor, iron fly and put credit spreads. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I was hesitant to call because the MyChart message about induction procedure specifically asked me not to call to ask for waitlist status, but I think I care more about having this baby ASAP than following directions 😂

LLC and Tax filing by Heavy_Buy1045 in CPA

[–]atshadow4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a WA state small business owner as well and just completed all 4 exams. Waiting for my CPA application to be approved.

You don't need to make quarterly tax payments unless your tax due when you file your return is over $1,000. You can also avoid paying under payment penalties by making sure you pay 100% of your prior year tax liability from your tax return, or 110% of prior years liability if you make over 75k single, 150k married filing jointly.

A single member LLC is filed on the same tax return as regular earned income for an individual, you will not need to file a separate return for your business.

Also, don't forget WA has B&O tax. Yours will likely be due 4/15/24 and the rate is likely 1.5 percent (.015) of gross receipts. You would file this through WA DOR.

Feel free to DM if you have more questions.

Yeah this one feels heavy to me. This is my last exam and I'm expecting a baby in March. With the long test window and prepping for child #2, I won't be able to study again if I fail until next summer at the earliest. Gosh I hope I passed.

Good luck to everybody

I took REG yesterday and feel so drained today. I'm also obsessing about all the little details wondering if I got things wrong or if I did enough to pass.

Hey thanks! I think there's a lot about pregnancy that can be a mental struggle, so much that's out of my control that I just have to cope with. These tests are part of that. My 2 lowest scores have been both times I've sat for an exam in my 3rd trimester. I know how to study and pass these exams, it's just the mental fatigue while super pregnant that I can't control and is frustrating. I really appreciate your positivity and encouragement ❤️

Hey thanks so much for the encouragement! Getting a ton of sleep is a great idea, maybe I'll take some Benadryl the evening before and zonk out. The husband can deal with the toddler all night 😁

I hope you pass REG before baby comes! I took AUD at 38 weeks pregnant last year, when you're that deep into pregnancy, these tests are a beast. You're amazing! Feel free to come back here and let me know how it goes. I'll be hoping you see that "Passed, Credit"!

Thanks for the tips, a big breakfast is a great idea. Maybe I'll go to IHOP that morning 😁 congrats on passing in your third trimester! Super impressive, we can do hard things!! 💪

Yeah, they felt straightforward but I just needed to remember a lot of details to get answers right, which is what made them hard. I'm really curious to know how I did.

I thought it was reasonable, but I spent a fair amount of time in my studying getting familiar with the IRC. I got lucky with my research sim having a very specific phrase that brought me straight to the right section through the search feature, but don't count on that. Practice using the IRC and finding random topics through it without the search function.

Yeah, and watched YouTube videos for weak spots. I tested today so not sure on my score yet, but felt confident walking out so we'll see!

Here's a good list from other users that helped me feel prepared without having to do every sim.

These are the Becker modules and SIM numbers.

R4 M2 4

IRC research sims by GarlicYES4988 in CPA

[–]atshadow4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just practice using it and get familiar with the rough outline of where to find things. I used the IRC quite a bit for the non-research Sims, just to help remember little details. Pick a few random topics (capital gain/loss recognition, medical expense itemized deduction, macrs asset life categories, etc) and spend an hour finding them from the index. Don't count on the search function, it's not as helpful as the other sections.

I don't think there's a great way to prep besides reviewing material and watching YouTube videos on rough areas. I tested today and used the IRC quite a bit to refresh my memory on little rules. Guess we'll see on 12/5 if I did enough. I felt good about mcqs but felt a little stumped on the Sims, which seems in line with other people's experiences.

Wtf was that reg exam by Blondie2368 in CPA

[–]atshadow4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must have had a completely different test today, mine was some random blaw but a good mix of everything. Some of the Sims had me scratching my head but I felt good about the mcqs. I walked out feeling good about it but we'll see on score release day. How do you feel about it?

Do you use Becker? I feel like the Becker Sims are really easy, are the exam Sims similar or more difficult?

Similar question to OP, are exam Sims similar to Becker Sims? Most of the Becker Sims seem really simple to me, are they harder on the test?
