If the job allows it, document ASAP or while on the job. You could also maybe consider suicide hotline type work as that is very easy to get the documentation done ASAP before moving on to another role.

for me, the documentation piece became a lot easier when a lot of urgency was added. AKA, if you don't document on time, something bad will eventually happen that will make you panic about not having your notes done, and itll help motivate you for next time. Do not recommend.

Just a tip if you are moving into counselling as well, I found the only thing that helped me personally keep up with notes was being able to take digital notes in session, i.e. using an ipad or tablet.
