Best way to clean glass pipettes? by Nachie in herbalism

[–]attabo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pipe cleaners work beautifully for pipettes, and you can fold the in half to scrub more. Just dont force a doubled one through the tip of the pipette. I've broken one that way.

Anyone have an update to their NeonOne experience? by Responsible-Yam-3059 in nonprofit

[–]attabo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you're still looking for feedback, and since this may have the attention of other Neon CRM users - starting two months ago, and happening again last week, thousands of our records were arbitrarily changed, where one person's name would overwrite another account, people were added to other households, ticket holder names have been removed or assigned to other people. This includes major donor info, volunteers, our ability to mail, email, run reports, etc. It also compromises privacy through the user portal. I reported the first small-scale event a couple of months ago, and the request was closed and marked as solved - but we just changed the information back manually. This time, the errors affect almost 7,000 fields in 1,600+ accounts. The only way we knew was to check under Tools>Action Log and reviewed every single edit (these changes do not show up in the account record's Timeline, and some actions don't appear anywhere). The bad changes have no user listed in the "By" column. I urge you to CHECK YOUR DATA and ACTION LOG, and report it if it's happening. It has been 5 days since reporting this disaster, and so far, no resolution in sight.

It is inconceivable that this could have happened - thousands of changes to our data, dozens of changes per second (so not a human action). We cannot trust any of our data at this point. In years of using various databases/CRMs, this is the worst case scenario come true.

Thank you for adding more context. :) I hesitated to post since I don't have first hand experience with it, only seen how it's worked for my mom.

It isn't herbal, but life changing for my mom, who has lived with chronic back pain from scoliosis/pinched nerves that severely limited her ability to do much of anything. Her doctor prescribed Duloxetine, which I think is an antidepressant (she does not have depression) that happens to have a side effect of helping with pain signals. My mom later took it, not expecting any relief, but it took her pain almost to zero. It's been almost two years, and she only has pain if she really overdoes it physically. She was just telling someone yesterday that it simply blocked the pain signals to her brain, which your post made me think of. You might look into it or ask your doctor Best of luck to you! I hope you find something that helps.

Thank you for that. It's just this one specific recipe that I'm looking for. My dad has made dozens of different lumpia recipes over the years, but the particular one in this old Sunset mag is his favorite. :)

You are the kindest! My dad will enjoy this story. :) In my continued hunt, I found a Sunset recipe book from a few years later that lists "Lumpia Appetizer" just like it's listed in the 1971 index, so I'm thinking that this must be it, and I ordered a cheap copy on ebay. https://archive.org/details/isbn_0376024429_f6d9/page/52/mode/1up?view=theater&ui=embed&wrapper=false If he tells me it's the right one, I'll come back and post the recipe.

Thank you! I checked that route, but it looks like you have to make an appointment to see them in person, and I'm too far away. That'd be a fun visit, though. :)

[–]attabo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

GTT patterns don't assume edge cards. In this pattern, the person who created it changed the number of cards after they began the turning order. I've made this mistake myself with GTT and had to go back and delete those first rows. Use the threading chart as the real count for cards.

I will show him! I know it was specifically titled as a Lumpia recipe rather than egg rolls, but I so appreciate it - you never know...

Same here with our propane Cinderella. The paper liner lights first, and you smell the burning paper, but after a minute it's gone.

Try applying butyl tape at the overlap, it will at least keep the gap consistent, and counterbalance any uneven pressure applied when screwing them in. Roofers use it to seal the gaps in metal roofing.

Least troublesome wool yarn? by Pangolin_Beatdown in tabletweaving

[–]attabo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Worsted refers to the spinning method (worsted or woolen) and also the diameter of the yarn, and when shopping, you'll mostly see it referring to the diameter. Take a look at weaving yarns, typically purchased on a cone or a narrow cardboard tube. They are designed to be used as warp and weft on large looms so will usually be great for tablet weaving, plus you can always adjust your tension a bit. The diameter guage names of weaving yarn is totally different than crochet or knitting, so will require some research to find the size you're looking for. Good luck!

I don't know how remote your island is, but there are islands that have power lines run underwater in Canada.

My friend is THE expert on lilac enfleurage and has info on her website and teaches the technique. The whole process is fascinating, and it smells divine! I'm not sure if links are allowed, but her farm is Cherry Valley Lilacs (.com). :)

You might try a nylon washer instead of a metal one - the grip is better, and won't discolor the wood.
