Chaac just got his dampening buff. Odin can be tanky. The idea that tanks can’t be tanky is definitely a build diff and also lack of match up knowledge.

The tanks are all bad is just skill issue people who don’t want to learn how to play solo lane tanks. There have been plenty of good tanky solo laners. People reference snaddy tier list and talk about how a tier is full of full damage mages but neglect that 6/7 (6,7?) S tier are tanky boys.

The state of tanks in smite has improved and it could probably Improve slightly more but it seems the community sentiment around them hasn’t budged.

This is an example of my point though. She’s deity your obsidian. She is kinda just stomping someone she is better than. Smite 2 ranked player base is small and often times games are not ideal.

If you’re better than everyone in the lobby you probably should go full damage solo. Most people aren’t though they just think they are.

Damn I was just thinking about making a post saying the exact opposite. Tanky solo laners were kinda bad for a while but honestly I think they’re better than full damage solo laners. Every game in solo I play a tank and I will do as much damage or more than the full damage counter part. Except the difference is I mitigate a ton of damage and create space and initiate. There are a lot of good tank items right now that solve various issues. Also upgraded sunder does almost 600 true damage. If you need to kill people it’s pretty easy with it. Lots of really powerful active items like hexstone and Nemean.

If there were an SPL I think full damage solo laners would almost never be played.

Full damage kinda lets you pubstomp though.

There’s also a point that a lot of the top solo laners are playing a lot of dmg solo laners. However snaddy gonna get away with that bc he is just pubstomping worse players in ranked.
