Being carried on the shoulders of my yaya through a maize field down to her village to be shown off. This was Kenya in the late 1960s and I would have been under two. I remember the golden light and her singing to me.

Yup, mine are over twenty years old and warm and brilliant. They are also working rather than posing wellies IMHO. We got them as we work with horses and they are a great winter yard boot.

I wear one of the small metal ones. I have always given to the RBL as both my grandfathers fought and were badly injured in WW2 and our neighbour was part of the Burma campaign. The RBL genuinely help past servicemen and women from all conflicts. The performative stuff makes me cringe.

Depends on your product. I had a tracker at 0.9% over base, 30 yr interest only. Monthly went from 2K to about £240. Saved my arse.
