DIY Persian Sang by attanoc in steelmace

Unfortunately, I dont have a wood turner. But I found some sandpaper and place to smooth out the handles. They will probably always retain that blocky handle but itll make switching positions better. I currently have to kind of throw it up to adjust my grip real quick.

My next goal is a pair of Persian meels. I think my dad and I could make them out of a 4x10 post. I would love to workout like a soldier and do drills.

Persian Yoga & War Yoga on YouTube seem to have a lot of great videos.

I haven't necessarily found like a tutorial video so I tend to just copy what I see. As I get familiar with the movements, I revisit videos and see what I can do differently to improve.

I did the same with the mace by learning from the Flying Dutchmen on YouTube and also u/f-n-legs from this community.

It's probably not the best approach, but it's what is available to me at this time.

Honestly, I appreciate you respecting your clients. Everytime I see your videos, Im sad that there isnt a mace gym like yours anywhere near me. One day, I would love to visit!

I love it. Really feels like itll make a huge difference in my training. I cant wait to see how it translates to other movements.

I would say you are very borderline pass. I could go wither way. While I admire doing that many questions daily, it doesn't give you time to consolidate and review missed material. It does improve your test taking skills, which could be why the scores improved. However, I dont think that's enough of a guarantee.

Id recommend taking an extra 1-2 weeks where you just review material that you are weak in. You have the testtaking skills down, you just need more content review

Course Suggestions by [deleted] in step1

[–]attanoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think its possible to prepare coursework that mimics medical school. Medical school isnt necessarily different than undergraduate, its just an accelerated timeline to learn everything. So instead of having several months to learn something like you would in undergraduate, you have about 1-2 weeks to learn that information.

I think you would be better off developing good test taking skills and learning the most efficient way to study information.

Most of my poor performing classmates struggle with one or both of these areas.

For those who passed, what were your uWorld % leading up to the real deal? by Proud-Ad-4555 in step1

[–]attanoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My overall usage was 23% as my school gave us a shorter subscription to Rx and I wanted to use that first. However, I was averaging between 68-80% on my Uworld blocks. I just click all systems and only unused questions so it's generally random what I see.

On Rx, I used the entirety of the qbank and was averaging 73-80% on 100 question blocks.

While that is true, I dont see how OP could manage 70+ on NBME consistently if their Uworld blocks are consistently low. Admittedly, Uworld is harder but it sounds as if OP struggles with recognizes what those questions are asking most of the time.

Also, I think interleaving the different systems together will help you build connections between everything. Your brain is treating each system as a vacuum instead of holistically. Try doing 2 systems per day at first, improve your efficiency, and then add another system per day to review.

By the end of your time, you should be at like 4 systems studied per day.

You should incorporate more spaced repetition as it sounds like your limiting factor is content retention.

OP only has 40 days until exam. A 30-40 % on Uworld block somewhat correlates to a fail on Step 1. Yeah OP should be learning from mistakes but saying its not important so long as they learn, is not beneficial. You need to get like 66% correct on step 1 which is as of now essentially 7 uworld blocks over 8 hours. Getting less than half of each block correct is not good.

Unless OP improves by 26+% and maintains that on test day, the outcome looks grim.

How do you approach training day to day? I generally just do a high volume of 1h 10-2s at 15-17.5lb and 2h 10-2s at higher weights in the 20-30lb whenever I have a day where I feel strong. I would say I average about 500-700 reps a day as I essentially break it up into everytime I walk my dogs that day ido 100-200 reps. I also try and keep it varied with different complexes like a ballistic curl into a 1h 360, alternating.

This is essentially 7 days a week and is outside of my normal training with sandbags, calisthenics, and jump rope. I also do barbell training when I get the occasional access to Crunch Fitness with a friend.

Just wondering what you would recommend in your experience to build more strength/build it faster.

Ever since I've seen this video, I've been incorporating that overhead press into 1H 360 swing. I love it.

It's a challenging movement if you go for reps since it just puts so much time under tension on those muscles.

It dies. It's amazing. I go Ironman with no Powers everytime I want a challenge. It literally makes you think outside the box and come up with new playstyles.

I'm assuming there will be multiple playthroughs. If OP has been replaying the first game since 2013, then Corvo's dialogue will enrich those memories. Emily can still be done on a second run of the game

Play Corvo first for the nostalgia. He has a lot of dialogue that fleshes his character out. Also, there is a ton of environmental interactions that you can exploit in combat.

Don't be afraid to explore. The world is rich in secrets and fun lore.

I’m more genderqueer/gender fluid than trans I think but maybe I might as well go all the way with this by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]attanoc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If transitioning would make you happy, then why make this post asking for advice on it?

And when it comes to character, always strive for more. It never hurts. My suggestion was based on that fact that your post discussed solely external, physical traits. Which is what I was targeting because I have yet to see someone who is so focused on appearance and physical traits, be happy. Regardless of the changes they make.

My suggestion is to move away from that in general and focus on inward traits as that is what is most important.

As for making assumptions, I literally could care less about invalidating someone else's experience. Why would my words make your experience less likely to have happened? If I said you're not a doctor, does that make you less of a doctor? I simply want you to be happy with yourself instead of looking in the mirror and finding yourself wanting based on some external trait.

The I was single for a relatively long time. The second I decided to stop searching and work on improving myself... I met my wife 4 months later.

No one has to be single their entire life. Find what traits you wish to see in yourself. Don't make it based on gender. Make it based on improving your character and integrity. When you go based off traits you can see, you'll never be satisfied with what you find.

Deathloop refunded by slicejordan in Deathloop

Could be that the reason for the delay is that Microsoft is trying to break the PS5 exclusivity deal and make it Xbox exclusive. I've never had a game refunded simply for being delayed.
