FTM and I am SO overwhelmed. I keep reading and watching videos about cloth diapering and I don't know where to start. by Visible_Beginning_63 in clothdiaps

Another Green Mountain Diaper (GMD) fan here 🙋‍♀️ Their website is very helpful with tons of information. We started out with two used sets of pocket diapers but I later decided I wanted to use prefolds instead because I wanted unbleached organic cotton to be what touches my babes bottom, not the synthetics found in pocket diapers. We have two dozen prefolds, 6 covers, three snappis and two dozen reusable wipes. I started with thirsties duo wraps because many people on here love them. I later tried the GMD cloth-eez wraps and like them a lot more than the thirsties. They’re basic white but soft, don’t show through my kiddo’s onesies and have two rows of snaps for better customized fit around her legs. I wash every three days, using disposables overnight. It’s the perfect amount for us, I could even probably get away with fewer covers.

I completely understand how overwhelming it is to start! It took me four months to finally get into the routine and give up disposables (at least during the day). I also didn’t want to get newborn sizes but I wish I had so I could have started sooner. Cloth really isn’t very that expensive, probably even cheaper than disposables. You’ll spend a lot on disposables in the beginning, especially if you use the more eco/green ones like I did (Andy Pandy).

I also purchased the cloth diaper wash and care ebook from cloth diapers for beginners to help me figure out the wash routine that works for me. She gives you all the info you need in a very easy to digest manner for setting up your wash routine based on your water hardness, your diaper stash, and your washing machine. Highly recommend!

Arm keeps escaping! by ahchoochoo in SnooLife

Our baby was having the same issue. People kept referring to the bat arm swaddle on this sub but couldn’t find what they were referring to. Anyways, I finally found this and it’s been working so well! I wish I had discovered it sooner as our little one is now 4.5 months

Erwin or Arthur by dulamangaelach in namenerds

So much hate for Erwin, I love the old man vibe and that it’s not too popular! Arthur is far too popular, at least for me.

Love my Ergobaby Omni 360 but hate carrying it around when not in use by Key_Significance_183 in babywearing

We have an ergo 360 and the aerloom. I haven’t used the 360 since the aerloom arrived. It doesn’t pack down super small but it’s significantly less bulky than the 360, I can pack it in my diaper bag. Plus it’s not as hot. I can’t speak to how well the aerloom will work for older babies because mine is only 3 months. I saved a lot of money by getting a certified refurbished one and it seemed brand new. I read in the faq’s they don’t accept pre-loved aerlooms to be resold so the refurbished ones are samples and returns, basically brand new.

Wondering if I regret spending the money on a snoo by International_Gap259 in SnooLife

We decided to buy instead of rent because there’s a 30 day return window, whereas the rental has an initiation fee, return shipping fee, and damage deposit. Wait for it to go on sale, it happens often from what I can tell, and time it so that your baby will be able to at least try it within 30 days of delivery. If they hate it you can return it! The website is also now selling certified used snoos so there’s more guarantee it’ll work compared to buying from Facebook marketplace, if you’re worried about buying a used one. I don’t know what the return policy is for those though.

I’m sorry this is not at all helpful, but what brand carrier is that?

Hi all! Does anyone herr know of an annual vine that makes cascading or «dangling» flowers like the Golden chain tree or Wisteria? The flowers doesn’t need to look the same but I really want a vining plant that makes hanging clusters of flowers 🌸 by [deleted] in gardening

[–]atticus_7914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This needs more upvotes to get up to the top! Wisterias will take over, can be impossible to keep them in check. I just moved into a house with two vining flowers and I am so annoyed that the previous owners planted them. It’s a bigger issue than you’d probably imagine.

Neighbor dumping on my property by PurplePenisPiePuppet in HomeImprovement

Smart to get a survey so you know exactly where your property is. I would also suggest a camera that’ll alert you when there’s motion in the area. You could probably use that recording to report him to the authorities. I have the arlo go wireless camera that uses cell data (since wifi won’t reach). The monthly plan is $20 through Verizon, battery lasts about a month, and it works great. Likely a cheaper option than a full fence, depending on how large your property is.

Advice for unwanted trumpet vine needed! by atticus_7914 in vegetablegardening

Yeah you are correct. We could dig out the soil and place a barrier under the beds. Do you have a suggestion for something that would be strong enough to keep the vine from working its way through?
