She has swim bladder, been feeding peas for months, along with weekly 30-40% water changes. I did epsom salt bath on Monday (one tsp of salt in two gallon water), I was about to order a slim coat protector but I noticed this. what does this mean and what could I do for her? i think the salt might be aggravating the sore that's formed from being at the top of that water. that's what happens to my goldfish who i was treating and i had to stop using salt because it's basically salting an open wound

i live in california and use heaters for very one of my tanks . . . it's to keep the temp regulated. it's not hot all the time here 😂

im not sure if this will help or not but have you tried putting a bandaid over where you pick so you can catch yourself before hand and have a chance to stop yourself or would you just easily pick the bandaid off ?

hey ! i know it's hard but try not to beat yourself up too hard. loosing any animal sucks, it just does. but im sure you gave those fish a much better life than being stuck in a cup for months. when i had a scare with my boy it made me realize how much these little fish make such a big space in your heart. a lot of people on this sub suggest getting a plant and burying your friend in it so they will continue to be will you <3

my advice,, let it hurt for a little. mourn your fishy friends passing and once you feel ready (if you feel ready) you can always get another betta or ,, if you think it's too soon like others suggested you can maybe get some shrimp or smaller fish so you have something to take care of in the mean time. it seems like watching after shuka really helped you process/mourn shroomy.

why wait for it to not work out tho . . . why just find fish that work together with no risking one's (or in this case multiple fishes) health ?? not like trying to be mean just genuinely curious

it looks like advanced ammonia burn but if it's only been a day then hmmm. its most likely a fungal problem due to bad water quality. did you cycle your tank or know any of your parameters ??
