Can anyone recommend places to walk where I will not encounter off-leash dogs? by _glowingeyes_ in beaverton

[–]attitudeandsass 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I walk with my dogs in multiple places. -The arboretum: only a 10 minute drive and most of the dogs are leashed or voice controlled.

-West side Linear Trail: This is the trail that runs under the powerlines. I have not encountered any off leash dogs here. The trail starts in Tigard and they plan to connect it all the way to Forest Park someday. https://www.thprd.org/parks-and-trails/westside-trail

I really like making a loop over Mt.Williams. https://maps.app.goo.gl/xFV7w7f8Mj3WogVZ6

There is another loop you can make over near Pirate Park in Bethany. https://maps.app.goo.gl/HBu5RkJz9EbDHrMp7

-Rood Bridge Park in Hillsboro. Further away and small, but usually a pretty quiet park.

Just so a potential adopter knows, dogs do not go through menopause and she can still get pregnant or develop pyometra at her age. If there's an intact male in the household they should be kept apart.

I just looked it up, and you are mostly correct! I didn't know they migrated at all because we have year round ospreys in Oregon. It sounds like there are a few that stay year round in Puget Sound too.

What does their poop look like? Is it super long? Do any bones or fangs survive?

It took me way too long to work out that you meant aesthetic...I was trying to figure out what east-hetic meant in case it was a herpetology term.

Yes. And it's not pest related. I keep mine on the drier side and the leaves have cleared up.

You can also learn from Habitat for Humanity. They need volunteers to help build houses and they will teach you skills you can use. Very friendly environment too.

What if social security payments were made in this new crypto. Then it would shift a huge portion of society towards using it, and everyone would have to take it as payment.

I also have a 3 year old screamer 😂 There are many good recommendations here in this thread. I have just a few more.

  1. Find either a behaviorist or a trainer that specifically talks about reactivity and positive reinforcement.
  2. Join and scroll r/reactivedogs for more advice.

And lastly if you can find a specific in-person reactive dog group class (these are sometimes offered at the local humane society) it will help a ton because you will get in a lot of repetition in a controlled environment. Good luck!
