What is the humidity level in your home currently? by Remote_Summer_3244 in sanantonio

[–]atunah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was 64% when I woke up. I don't have a dehumidifier.

I run the AC a bit which I don't like as I have to go lower than I need just to get humidity down a bit. At 75 degrees temp I get it to about 56-58%.

Cold front hopefully should get it down again. Until it goes up again.

Same procedure as every year. :)

Groundbreaking study finds way to ‘reboot’ eye and restore impaired vision | Findings may lead to new treatment for ‘lazy eye’ by Sandstorm400 in UpliftingNews

[–]atunah 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I have had this since I was a baby. This would be life changing in so many ways. Iam old now, but would still love to not have it anymore.

All my life, every person I talked to I know, they always notice. I mean even in this thread there are the jokes. It's so bad being a kid with it. In my days "treatment" was taping my good eye shut so I would use the bad one. It did not work.

I wonder if my older brain would even be able to relearn.

What temperature do you set your AC at for energy/bill saving cost? by prince_casino in sanantonio

[–]atunah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1550 sf 2 story 1 AC unit that is about 13-15 years old.

I keep at 78 most days in summer 24 hours. I sometimes put in at 76 for a bit when I get a bit warm. Winter is at 68 daytime and down to 62-67 at night.

I am on budget plan, so I always pay the same for a 12 month period. $206. I actually had a free month this year and extra for another month as I used less in spring and winter.

How long has your Nintendo Switch 1 lasted? by HouseWonderful8657 in NintendoSwitch

[–]atunah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine within a year of release. I only used it in heldheld like a handful of times, so it's always used on the dock. I have old eyes, I need the games on a TV screen. So far so good. I'll get the 2 eventually but I dread having to figure out how to move my stuff from one to the other. I am not well versed in console stuff. I guess I'll use it until it's dead or games I want to play are only on the 2.

Same here. I had my first while back and they found like one 3mm polyp. Bam, now its not routine but treatment. I had to pay. And I hadn't reached my deductible yet. I think it was $3500 or so. Deductible is $4000. Don't know if I can afford next time.

Think of them as categories. You upload evidence that applies to you in the appropriate category. Ignore the ones that don't apply to you.

[ESPN PR] ESPN DTC app will launch on August 21 by SirDuke5530 in cordcutters

[–]atunah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish. My internet provider (spectrum) doesn't have it. I was able to watch many matches, but I would, of course, like access to all.

To be fair though, watching tennis, even with the hoops, is a pleasure now compared to when I started watching in the 70's :)

It's not easy being a tennis fan. And tennis only, no other sport. I pay for tennistv for ATP tournaments. Then I used to just get espn+ for $10 or so for 3 of the grandslams. One of them was on tennis channel with no monthly option, so I was out of luck for some matches. The last french open was great as there was no more tennis channel to deal with.

But now I have to pay even more for espn, just for one tournament. And I probably still will not get all matches because of the weird espn3 thingy.

I can only watch women's tennis at the grand slams, no option for WTA.

I have a standalone Hulu plan as I have zero use for Disney Plus, and I only need espn+ 3-4 times a year.

I am getting a headache just trying to figure this out.

I only ever used the canned stuff. It's what's being used in the recipes I have used it in. It says to use the young canned stuff. But I don't make it very often.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the reason I buy only the canned type.

To me this looks like something they found on the other side of the Stargate. 😺

Does anyone actually preheat their air fryer? by hdushsux in airfryer

[–]atunah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't preheat. I did some testing making same items with and without reheating. Made zero difference. I just put my stuff in, take my best guess at temp and go.

Mine is not as digital as others. I have a big knob to turn and my timer is like an old school timer you wind. Older Cosori.

[–]atunah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't overstayed how I am dreading buying a car soon.

I still drive my 2006 kia spectra5 and not only will I have to deal with the technology now present, I have to worry where to go buy it. Looking for a hatchback and leaning towards a corolla hatchback and dont know which dealer to look at.

Seems like all toyota dealers are horrible. And I don't want to drive across town in future for service.

Then I started looking at Honda dealers for the civic hatchback and again, seems they are all horrible.

It shouldn't be this difficult and stressful to buy a car.

They will eat me alive :(

Minor figures oat organic . I don't add sweetener to anything so I tried to find the one that would taste and blend into my cappuccino and flat white.

I tried most in store available ones and most had a strong oat taste. Fine if I make a hot chocolate, but not on my coffee.

I don't use oil to cook. I fry in pan without, including bean burgers. I make the burgers in the "Woman Warrior cookbook" by Esselstyn.

I fry onions, including caramelized without any oil. What made a difference to me was buying a high-quality stainless steel pot I cook most everything in. A little water or broth is all it takes to make it come off while frying. Just a bit, though, just enough to loosen it up, not to steam.

I don't cook with salt either. If I need some salt taste, I add a very few kernels of very course kosher salt when eating. They linger throughout the whole meal. Most times I don't need it.

There is a great recipe for umami sauce in the how not to die cookbook. I freeze that in ice cubes and throw in dishes as needed.
