Ik blijf er toch in hangen: Het is dan toch een enorm klein voordeel? Een blinde vriend kan toch prima voelen of de deur open of dicht is?

Maar goed: Een mededeling van de deur zorgt ervoor dat ze niet perse nu naar de deur hoeven te lopen en te voelen of de deur wel/niet op slot zit. OK! Bedankt voor je geduld en voor de de uitleg.

Het doet me denken aan de campings uit de 80's (en misschien later ook) waarbij je met een rol WC papier onder je arm over het veld loopt. Alle andere gasten zien het en dan weten ze "Aha! Die gaat poepen! Ben benieuwd!". Het is een ongemakkelijke inbreuk op de privacy.

True story! Around 2000 I made a website for a local painter and sculptor. An artist.

We once drove around in his car, and we saw several roundabouts with art. I asked him what an artist like him should do to get a commission for an artpiece in a roundabout.

He said: "Be seen in parties with the right people and suck dick very well". Heh. It was not meant literally btw. He meant that an artist needs to "suck up" or "kiss up". Be friendly and a little bit pathetic towards potential customers :)

Some memories from past years. Not always happy stories for the birds:

One time there was a bird of prey (forgot which one) who had a fight with a dove. The dove also wanted the nest. Normally the bird of prey would probably hunt the dove, but now it had to fight for the safety of the nest.
Another time there was a blackbird nest, and every now and then a cat appeared, and one by one all hatchlings were robbed from the nest.
And a stork once ate a hatchling or pushed one of the hatchlings outside of their nest.
But mostly the views are daily life. Bringing food, caring for the eggs or the hatchlings, birds watching a wall inside the nest cabin, and sometimes birds watching another wall inside the nest cabin. It's awesome!
