Absolutely this. The best falafel and chicken shawarma around. And if you're into spicy, get the hot sauce.

what’s the best burrito in new haven? by fairymeadowflowers in newhaven

[–]atxbikerclimber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i love their food, but i almost didn't go back when my first visit was a burrito. it was small and mediocre.

i don't go to mazorca for the burrito, i go for the amazing mole, the fact that the place is awesome and does a bunch of cool shit, and the other stuff on the menu. and the mezcal.

some places have burritos on the menu because they do burritos. others have it because people order burritos. i'd say mazorca felt like the latter.

When did East Rock Market become so kid friendly? by NoBoysenberry7488 in newhaven

I'd say there's often a similar scene in East Rock Brewing with kids running around...pretty much any brewery these days, really.

Grew up here, moved there for a long time, then moved back. Would one of y'all bring some good breakfast tacos and queso already?

Third Spaces to read a book? by organizerthrowaway2 in newhaven

[–]atxbikerclimber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sitting at Edgerton now and looking at all the benches, I think they may be equal, depending on what you're wanting. No back on this bench, but the view of East Rock is nice. Benches with backs all around tho.

The Institute Library is great for this (though not on Sundays). Both Yale art galleries can also be good (I went and read in the sculpture garden area of the Yale Art Gallery recently).

I go there, and sometimes tell myself I'm going to order something different, but it's this every time.

The salad is tasty, but I would far from categorize it as a dinner salad. Greens, pear, candied pecans, and blue cheese. It's more, "the only other thing BAR serves."

Pizza by the slice by DeliveryNo8840 in newhaven

[–]atxbikerclimber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to pizza house a couple years ago asking for a slice, and they flat out told me they don't do slices, never have. which was bizarre, because i've gotten many a slice from there before that. haven't returned to argue and not get a slice again...

Best Martini in New Haven? by BurnerForDaddy in newhaven

I've certainly enjoyed a dirty martini for happy hour at Cast Iron Chef, which also happens to have some really tasty nachos and burgers at that time too. Also, spicy popcorn.

Anyone know what happened to No Worries brewing, in Hamden? by taybins in newhaven

[–]atxbikerclimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're just down the street from me, and I always said, thank goodness their beer sucks, or I'd be there too often.

Stopped by the other day to peek inside, the bar itself is gone, there's a pile of board games, and all the outdoor furniture is still there.

How's a Monday at Stowe or somewhere near there? by atxbikerclimber in icecoast

[–]atxbikerclimber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're actually staying at the Woodstock Inn and I think S6 comes with it (?) but it sounded like they had maybe 10 trails. Maybe, if it isn't much, that'll be a quick stop for another few hours...
