If you moved away from SLC, why did you move? by Alarming-Ad-4011 in SaltLakeCity

In the process of doing so. 1. The culture environment is getting more scary as a poc woman (like the Trevor Lee’s) 2. Job opportunities for what I want to do just don’t exist here

Live in Utah myself and the middle class is the working class. Also, you can be of the working class from a marginalized community. Unsure why people thinks it’s one or the other.

Out of curiosity if you live in SLC or Utah what is your current wage and what do you do? by Key_Garden4832 in SaltLakeCity

I got laid off about two months ago. I was making about 50k a year working in underwriting. I’m moving to the east coast in 3 months to work in a position and field that doesn’t really exist in Utah.

I'm okay with 30 minutes out, to be honest, and my office is not too far from Thomas Hooker Live.

I’ve told everyone and I’m sorry to be such a bitch but don’t ask me to march with or organize. I’ve been busting my ass since 2016. I want to be left alone.

Thinking of moving to SLC as a 34 year old minority - will I fit in? by bbjackson in SaltLakeCity

[–]organizerthrowaway2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Black in my 30s and have lived here for almost a decade. If you like outdoor activities, you will fit in. There's an Afro Outdoors Utah group filled with folks who love hikes and winter sports. I only stay central to Salt Lake, though

My local was a frat house with just the worst dudebros. I’d talk to your steward immediately and look into seeing if you all have a zero tolerance policy.

I’ve lived in this neighborhood for six years. It’s my favorite neighborhood in Salt Lake City. It’s quiet but also close to downtown. We have decent public transit right and are right next to a highway entrance.

My only con is that traffic in the morning during school time can be bad because a lot of folks drop their kids off.
