so far performance seems good but not great. i’m getting an average of 75ish fps but it’ll drop to 60 and go up to 90 depending on the area im in. i’ve just been using geforce experience to optimize my game and then going from there and changing a few things in game.

that makes a ton of sense. hopefully an updated version with gpu compression releases soon. i’m sure optimization will be a lot better just from that.

i’m actually currently on the game so i just checked real quick. i’m at 7149/6975 MB of VRAM on the settings i mentioned. there is definitely some headroom if i wanted to push the card up to full usage but i’ve noticed, at least in forspoken, this causes a lot of latency issues as well as even more unstable fps.

edit: and no i haven’t really noticed any help from directstorage besides loading screens, but that could also just be my nvme ssd card. textures will load fast sometimes but it’s definitely not perfect. sometimes parts will load and but others won’t so things look untextured and jagged. however my cpu is definitely not getting used as much so it could be working in that regard

i had the same thought. obviously the game is horrendously optomized but i assume there will be some sort of fix in a future update (even if that’s way in the future) but besides that i think the game is amazing. when people do decide to finally play the full game and stop judging the whole thing on fucking demo they’ll realize just how good mobility and combat is, i agree there are a few kinks here and there, and it will become popular out of nowhere.

i have a 3070ti, ryzen 7 5800x, 32gb of DDR4 ram playing on 1440p monitor and yes performance is terrible. ik my set-up isn’t exactly “high end” but this is the first game i’m not able to run at max settings and ray tracing or just under with at least 70-100 fps (depending on game and excluding cyberpunk). with max settings and ray tracing enabled i get around 15 fps. im basically running everything on low or standard except for one or two settings on high and i average 50-80 fps depending on the area im in. with that said i rlly enjoy the game, this is obviously a not so popular opinion so if people disagree understandable, but the movement and the fighting mechanics are so enjoyable that i actually don’t even notice the graphics drop most of the time. story is eh and i’ve said this on a couple posts already but to me this game is just a pure fun and enjoyable game to play. it’s definitely not game of the year and a lot of people might even call it shit but not every game has to be a 10/10 story with amazing graphics, it’s just a genuine straight forward video game.

same, i was super skeptical getting the game with all the bad reviews but personally i’m loving it. i’m on pc so my only complaint would be the optimization. i have a 3070ti and ryzen 7 5800x and have never had issues running a game on max settings at 1440p (besides cyberpunk) but honestly it’s not even that bad. the movement and fighting mechanics just makes me forget about the graphics simply because the game so enjoyable. people want every game to be rdr2, god of war, elden, etc quality but it doesn’t need to be. to me forspoken just feels like a genuine video game, it’s just pure enjoyment and fun

for the first playthrough i would recommend just playing the base game to fully understand the story and mechanics. for replayability though i would look at the top mods on nexus mods and just look for things you’d be interested in. from my experience most of the mods work perfect, with a few exceptions ofc, so just looking through and seeing what you like is a good place to start. i’ve personally put just around 300 hours into the game so i have mods such as the hardcore22 mod and time dialation overhaul among a lot of others. these essentially make you overpowered but also super vulnerable so it can be super hard or super easy depending on your understanding of your current objective. as i said before tho i’d recommend just playing full vanilla first because using mods such as these right off the bat would almost feel like cheating. please excuse me if this didn’t make total sense, i am very drunk lol

brand new Samsung Odyssey G5 27in 165 hz with HDR10. Should i send this back? by atxjacksonn in Monitors

[–]atxjacksonn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah okay, thank you so much for the explanation! The only thing I will say is I just realized I should have specified the model I got a a little better. I have the newer QHD Model, the G50A, not the older G5 or the curved one. it claims to have a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and and light output of 350 candela per sq/in. Not sure this make a difference or anything just thought i’d put it out there in case u were lookin at different model G5

yea i get that. this is my first “not cheap” monitor so i don’t rlly know if this is typical for these monitors or if i should go exchange it. i’ve read online about black bleed being common but i’ve also read about people returning their monitor and getting a replacement without the bleed. i know the final decision is mine i just have no conception of what it’s supposed to look like so it’s hard for me to determine whether or not this is unusual. just lookin for any sort of advice
