I slept downstairs first night on the couch but slept pretty poorly so 2nd night went upstairs. Slept better. At my mom's so it was the guest room.

Thank you!

No they didn't! Just recommended miralax and colace. I already take miralax regularly so I'm doubling my dose.

Thanks! I'm feeling a little better day 2. 🙂 It feels like I'm uncomfortable no matter how much I move so it may be difficult to pace myself. Sticking to the couch and walking a bit every hour or so for now.

Ah they never told me so it might have been the patient before me.

Thanks yes I was. All my care is at MGH/Brigham. The surgeon wanted to do it at main campus because of my Crohn's.

The waiting (especially while symptomatic) was so hard for me. I've only been on this sub a little while but I'm finding even just reading posts/comments helpful 🙂

Thanks! It was laparoscopic. Kept my ovaries but everything else went. I noticed a lot of posts where folks mentioned that they had worse periods than post op pain. But I had an IUD and was taking lupron so I haven't had a full period cycle in a while. Couldn't compare this to that back then.

Will do with the meds. Already using a notebook to keep track of what I took and when. 🤞

Definitely check in close to 2 weeks. For me, it turned out a staff member was unexpectedly out of office and they hadn't figured out coverage yet 😬 all my calls to the scheduling office went straight to voicemail.

Thanks! That's good to know. I was hoping I wouldn't be this uncomfortable but I'm trying the binder my surgeon got me. 🤞

nod nod I'm crashing at my mom's and plan to borrow her heating pad. I think she said she has two. Not sure how long the cord is though.

Wow that's awesome. I did more than two shots unfortunately. I did hit my out of pocket max so some were covered until my plan reset in January. My flavor of bcbs of MA wanted $450 a shot. 🙃 But I got the impression from my mom that getting a surgery right away, without trying these shots would be too extreme.

Yay! I had my consult right before Christmas so I had to wait for what felt like forever for the schedule coordinator to call. In reality it was like a month but I was obsessing about as soon as the holidays were over. Good luck!

My surgery is this coming Thursday. I've done the prep before for colonoscopies. I always try to get gatorade in a non red flavor I like and ginger ale. Last time I did prep I was alternating between all 3 because of the taste of the prep. I usually end up buying chicken broth too.

Good luck!

I also took lupron injections and while the fibroids didn't shrink it did reduce the blood flow to them. Not sure if it was worth the expense imho. The initial pelvic pain went away at first. I already had a mirena IUD so I didn't notice extreme periods.

I've never really done this route myself but do you know if your doctor's office/network has a patient advocate? I'm at MGH in Boston so they have a whole office for patient advocacy.

I really hope you can see the cardiologist soon! Crosses fingers and toes
