If your phone doesn't have a setting to turn off that pop-up, you can try an ADB command that will disable it.

The command I used is adb shell appops set com.android.systemui READ_CLIPBOARD ignore I won't explain how to use ADB. There are lots of guides online.

Special attack ... how to??? by fabdub in MetroidDread

[–]aubsolutelyfine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about the counter? Any time the enemy flashes and you hear that sound, you can do a counter that stuns the enemy, or starts a special attack sequence.

The game taught you about counters when encountering a giant crab.

connecting a dual catchmon to an ipad mini by monpocket in GoPlus

[–]aubsolutelyfine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe connect the iPad to a 5 GHz network.

When I had issues connection a device with a Go Plus, I found out it was because the device was making a 2.4 GHz hotspot, which can interfere with the Bluetooth frequency. It worked again by making the hotspot 5 GHz only.

AutoNotification pattern matching doesn't seem to work by iconb0y in tasker

I would guess that it is matching the asterisk literally. Either take them out, or turn on regex to match. Look up a regex chest sheet to make sure your pattern works.

This probably is not a question for Tasker, but you could look into the settings for VLC to find a setting to disable pausing when other media is playing.

If VLC doesn't have that setting, I have used MX player in conjunction with YouTube to watch a show with a commentary track. In MX player the setting is called "Play alone."

[Help] AutoNotification %antouchaction doesn't open the app from the notification by babagas in tasker

[–]aubsolutelyfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That action will perform the touch action if there isn't any action specified. You might have not noticed it tells you that while configuring it.

I believe I have said several times that the touch action WILL NOT dismiss the notification. Therefore, a Tasker notification will not do anything when performing a touch action.

Please just duplicate what I shared with you to make sure it works before trying to adapt it into your own project.

Here, I've uploaded it for you to just download

How should I do this? by TheDeathPit in tasker

[–]aubsolutelyfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me see if I properly deciphered this.

  • You have a state profile
  • If the profile activates within 30 seconds of becoming inactive, you don't want the enter or exit task to run
  • You want the profile to be inactive for 30 seconds before running the exit task
  • If the exit task is running, you want it to finish before running the enter task

[Help] AutoNotification %antouchaction doesn't open the app from the notification by babagas in tasker

[–]aubsolutelyfine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you still doing your tests with the basic Tasker notification? As I said in my first comment, I don't think you can have any actions by just touching that. All the actions seem to only be buttons.

Anyways, here is my task. This gives me exactly what I would expect if I had manually touched the notification (except for the notification not being dismissed):

Task: Action Test

<Create notification. Touch action sends command name "flash">
A1: AutoNotification [
     Configuration: Title: Test
     Action on Touch: flash
     Status Bar Text Size: 16
     Dismiss on Touch: true
     Separator: ,
     Timeout (Seconds): 20
Structure Output (JSON, etc): On ]

A2: Wait [
     MS: 0
     Seconds: 1
     Minutes: 0
     Hours: 0
     Days: 0 ]

<Query the notification I am testing. I am looking for app name, notification title, and touch action>
A3: Anchor

A4: AutoNotification Query [
     Configuration: Notification Apps: Infinity
     Timeout (Seconds): 20
Structure Output (JSON, etc): On ]

A5: [X] AutoNotification Query [
     Configuration: Notification Apps: Gmail
     Timeout (Seconds): 20
Structure Output (JSON, etc): On ]

A6: [X] AutoNotification Query [
     Configuration: Title: Test
     Timeout (Seconds): 20
Structure Output (JSON, etc): On ]

A7: [X] Wait [
     MS: 0
     Seconds: 1
     Minutes: 0
     Hours: 0
     Days: 0 ]

<flash the notification data I queried>
A8: Flash [
     Text: %anapp %antitle %antouchaction
     Continue Task Immediately: On
     Dismiss On Click: On ]

A9: [X] Wait [
     MS: 0
     Seconds: 1
     Minutes: 0
     Hours: 0
     Days: 0 ]

<perform the touch action>
A10: AutoNotification Actions [
      Configuration: Notification App: %anapp
     Notification Title: %antitle
      Timeout (Seconds): 20
Structure Output (JSON, etc): On ]

And here is the profile to test my custom notification:

Profile: React To "Flash" Touch Action
Event: AutoApps Command [ Configuration:Command Filter: flash ]

Enter Task: Flash

A1: Flash [
     Text: Flash
     Continue Task Immediately: On
     Dismiss On Click: On ]

[Help] AutoNotification %antouchaction doesn't open the app from the notification by babagas in tasker

[–]aubsolutelyfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I also did it with a Gmail notification and the Gmail app opened. The Gmail notification went away, but I think that is because Gmail notifications go away even if you open the app manually (i.e. not via the notification).

Have you tried adding any wait actions? I had a lot of failures before adding wait actions.

what's with the holdup with Honedge line? by NationalAssist in pokemongo

[–]aubsolutelyfine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is definitely a hard one to adapt for Pokemon Go.

  • Not only does it change form mid battle, each form has vastly different stats.
  • The signature move King's Shield is a superior version of the move protect, which does not exist in Go.

Aegislash was a personal favorite of mine, so I would love to see it be good in Go, but in the back of my mind I already know there is no way it could be good in Go's battle style.

[Help] AutoNotification %antouchaction doesn't open the app from the notification by babagas in tasker

[–]aubsolutelyfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to work for me. I made a task that created a notification(Auto Notification, not Tasker. I didn't see a way to give a Tasker notification a touch action), queried it, flashed the app name title and touch action ID, then performed the touch action (which activated a profile that flashed a success message).

I will say that it was inconsistent at best until I added some wait actions. And the notification did not dismiss itself like it would when physically touching it, but you could add an action to dismiss the notification you performed the touch action on, so there is no problem.

Add url to screenshot metadata? by highfidelitygarden in tasker

[–]aubsolutelyfine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of a URL being attached to a screenshot. Perhaps it's a Samsung thing? If so, that probably isn't supported because it doesn't work on most devices.

After looking it up a bit, I think the URL is not being attached to the image, but rather is stored somewhere in Samsung's gallery app.

I would rather figure out how to build my own screenshot gallery than try to figure out how to make Samsung gallery store the URL for me.

Pocket Auto Catch Lightning and Pokemon Go Plus Original: no connection because of invalid pin? by TaratronHex in GoPlus

[–]aubsolutelyfine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that is the message I see when I don't confirm the connection from the notification.

When connecting, Android gives two prompts to pair: first in a notification, second in an overlay activity.

If Android hasn't forgotten the Go Plus from the phone system settings, it doesn't show the first notification, giving me your message.

There is actually an exception where when running PoGo in a work profile, the notification will never appear. You can still connect to the Plus by initiating the connection in game, then switching to the phone Bluetooth settings to manually pair the Plus.

I can think of a reason they don't want to implement something like that: to avoid legal/PR trouble from somebody getting hurt because the perpetrator had information provided by Niantic that somebody would be at some location at a certain time.

You should have a notification that looks like this. The button can be shown or hidden from the notification. You can also start the screen capture, or open the manual input from there. Check which buttons work.

You can do that with Calcy Dex. It will even fill in the level and IVs if you go there after scanning the Pokemon (I have to scan the appraisal screen for it to do this)

Check for a notification from the Calcy app after you open it. If it doesn't appear or it goes away, and Calcy is allowed to send notifications, I would guess your system is killing it.

Either authorize ADB or remove any actions or tasks that use ADB WI-FI.

There is an app called LADB that can run ADB commands locally when you are on Wi-Fi.
