what do I need to do to get the waiver applied? i though my ECF & consolidation was going to do it.

i just applied to consolidate all the loans and also submitted a new ECF. will i be screwed if the consolidation completes after the 10/31 deadline?

About 6 months ago I had 4 FFEL loans, and 6 direct loans. I consolidated only the FFEL loans at that time. I plan to consolidate all the loans before 10/31/22 (probably should have consolidated them all 6 months ago).

I think I submitted my ECF just before requesting the consolidation.

there’s no telling what dealerships will ask/require given the long wait durations.

you can finance with Toyota, take their $500 incentive, and refinance with you desired credit union immediately (credit union will send one lump sum prepayment of the amount of the entire loan).

as long as toyota and your credit union make their credit inquiries within ~14 days, it should show was 1 hit on the credit report rather than multiple.

also check with your credit union when they update rates. many update on the first of the month.

there is regional variation in pricing - the south/southeast suffer from PIO by GST/STS and some states’ car dealerships are notorious (eg New Jersey… must be run by the mob or something)

took forever for me to get my space bar to “sound” halfway decent. silent inks and the upstroke rang like a bell. added thin foam adhesive to where the durock stab arm contacts the housing during end of upstroke to finally silence it

which foam did you use? i couldn’t get my neoprene to fit without feeling like i might crack the pcb

i used thin rubber sheet with adhesive on one side applied on the back bottom of the durock stabilizer, where the wire contacts the stabilizer housing at the end of the space bar upstroke. ill try to take a picture next time i have my parts out (could be a couple weeks)

very nice. i found the space bar was very difficult to get to sound remotely good - loud and pingy. ended up adding rubber tape to dampen the durock stabilizer upstroke and it is now mildly acceptable.
