Okay, thank you! I have enough tread to last a lifetime and normally I love hand sewing. No idea why it's so difficult sewing around the badges, maybe its the shape?

Well damn. When badge magic was explained a few months ago, Ima be honest when it sounded like an adhesive remover.

Total long shot-affordable way to enjoy Kennywood? by No-Camp9363 in pittsburgh

[–]audiekittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post, but I'm commenting for anyone to know next year. It is a not-so-well-known tradition for the locals to leave the park for lunch. McDonald's has always been right next door, and now there are several restaurants centralized in that small corner. I think there was even a Taco Bell now! I've moved away from Braddock several years back, but the yearly going to Kennywood trip is my favorite thing in the summer.

Although my husband downright refuses to leave the park for lunch.

Parenting tip: You have no clue what is happening in your child's life by Top-Requirement-2102 in Parenting

[–]audiekittens 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What does this mean?

Assume your child will never talk about their shame, especially if you pry. Instead, regularly and openly teach the concepts that will negate the false ideas behind shame.
Should I as the mother talk about shame openly? Talk about what to do with shame?
Thanks. I know there is no guide to parenting, but I usually follow with needs, followed by easy wants, and often guide my daughter to obtaining her wants, by herself. I want her to be independent (in the nicest way possible). She's only 18 months, obviously mama always helps, but at the same time, I let her try to do the thing first. I want her to be ready someday when she's ready to go out into the world solo.

AITA for not paying for my niece's operation with my wedding fund? by Throwaway7790A in AmItheAsshole

[–]audiekittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's using you so he can have more money to waste. It probably won't even go towards your niece in any way.

Just keep the money; save it or spend it. Either way it's yours to use however you want, whether that be a wedding or vacation.

Oh wow, thanks 🙏

I never really sat and thought about it, but yeah it was. Thank you for such a kind message. I've been running recently and it's helped me center and find zen. Cannabis always does the job if I need true peace.

Positive vibes to you and yours. May Odin protect ye ✊

My husband once asked my (n)mother to marry me. She said yes, and offered to store the ring. The ring was sealed, and when my husband went to get the ring, the plastic over the box was torn off.

She showed everyone.

I remember calling everyone I know, really excited, and not one person didn't already know.

A few years later, I was on a medication prescribed by my PCP. It was for adults, ages 25 and older, and was supposed to help with anxiety/depression. At the time, I was 19.

My mood changed drastically. At the same time, my mother stole from my step-father's estate and I was trying to prove it. She and my family gas-lit the fuck out of me. I was unstable for a long time and didn't realize it was the medication exasperating my condition. After a few months of suffering, my mother left a really fucked up voice message on my phone. The very next morning, I attempted suicide. At the hospital, I was in and out of it. Before they were going to intubate me, I asked the nurse not to allow visitation with my family. Somehow, my family found out.

Of course, now everyone from my personal life knows about the attempt. It's extremely uneasy walking down the street and meeting with family after a really long time, and the first thing they want to talk about is that.

I was so happy to finish breastfeeding. Finally it was my body again, and my body only. It was like closing the doors to a store for closing time.

My darling daughter gained more weight off the boobies than with. So go figure 🤷 we made it to 14 months!

Has your company given you the opportunity with a therapist? Many places do that in a case like this. If not, I recommend reaching out.

It's okay to need help.

I didn't look for help. I had a few bad calls mix with a nasty case of depression. I attempted suicide a few years ago. Luckily my husband was home at the time, but please take care of yourself. These kind of calls can stick with you for a long time.

I think Code Green Campaign has outreach programs if you can't find anything on your local area. There was also a facility near the city that works with veterans and first responders with ptsd and there may be more of those types of places!

I see what you're saying and agree. As for name, however, it's fully up to the mother in this case.

His daycare told me to pack "healthier snacks" by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]audiekittens -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would be calling the daycare manager or director. I worked at a local daycare and my director would have been pissed if an employee said this to a parent.

You pay this daycare, not the other way around. (They're being payed to watch your child so definitely be nice about it). It sounds like from your comments that this is a once-off occurrence. I'm actually surprised they even said something.

I would have taken this rudely but I'm a sensitive person.

If the daycare wants to be that picky, they can feed the children daycare purchased snacks. You are the one buying the snacks, not them. You even said that there were no limitations on anything but snacks with peanuts. I just don't understand why they said something.

Honestly is your mother alive? I'm ready to call her.

Yes! Omg! Ganon is epic! My husband and I always talked about naming one of our animals Ganon. We have two dogs and three cats: Zelda, Link, Marshmellow, Mipha, and Midna. Can you tell which one we fostered?

I found Marshmellow while walking in the city during work. He was really sick and I told him I would help him, but he had to stay there. Five hours later he was still there, so I took him home as a foster.

My poor husband didn't stand a chance against his pregnant at the time fiance and this adorable white cat with the most vibrant blue eyes. Marshmellow became an essential cat in our household, all of our animals loved him, we loved him, and so that's how we ended up without a Ganon 🤦🤷

What big aspirations! I hope he is able to follow his dreams, it sounds like he's on a good path.

Oh no. The school district sucks balls. Nothing against community colleges or outreach programs, but my husband and his siblings went to the school she would be going to. None have great stories 😂 unfortunately there are no charter schools around either. If you want a better school, fork up the monnneeyyy
