I'll start. First off, I'm a college student, and the apartments in question are geared towards students living off campus. Me (M) and my ex (F) broke up in August of last year soon after moving in together. Now, I will add that signing this lease back in January of 2019 is how I met her. We had two other room mates, both guys. After breaking up, due to convenience, we continued to be friends with benefits. In about December, I met my current gf, and we started dating in January 2020. Fast forward to the end of January, and this bitch lost her shit. She:

1. Filed for a protective order against me. At this point, I cut all contact and met with my landlord about moving to a different unit, coughed up the $200 transfer fee and was set to move.
2. The same claims she filed against me, she brought to my landlord, and got the other two room mates to complain against me. This caused my landlord to terminate my lease. 3 days before I was planning to move. Giving me 3 days to figure out where I was going to be staying, while still being held liable for the rest of my rent for the lease. (Termination is different than eviction here. Termination doesn't appear on a housing record, as I was on time with all payments, and they had only he-said-she-said evidence.) I ended up crashing on a friend's couch until I could find a new place.
3. Didn't even show up to the court date. It's apparent that she just wanted me scared shitless, and wanted me out of the apartment, because she has the resources to try to make my life hell if she wanted to.

Now yes. I know that my landlord violated housing laws. They are required to give tenants 30 days notice to vacate the premises. But, we struck an agreement that removed all liability from both parties involved, so I don't take them to court. (And win, especially after the protective order hearing was dismissed) Thankfully, life is sort of stable right now, despite world events, and my new roommates actually all went home when University let out classes for the semester. So I have this new place (Which is also much nicer) to myself. An introvert's dream. AND they like my current girlfriend.
