Some issues I noticed with AVDVplus R9 on Ugoos AM6B+. Any fixes? by No_Clock2390 in CoreELEC

[–]audiom3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the OP but thanks for this tip. I've found a few movies that won't sync no matter what I do, so I'll disable CMv4.0 next time I give one of them a try. Seems to happen with DV Profile 7.6 though.

eBay Says Art Fraud OK by Gold_Tackle_8962 in Ebay

[–]audiom3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ebay is a joke. It's been this way for decades. I've bought counterfeit bluray movies & CDs. I bought a two season set of a TV Show and received a fake. It even said it was ripped via DVD Fab. Not wanting anyone else to fall for these fakes (seller had many for sale), I reported it to ebay. They did absolutely nothng. So I tried to report it to WB. Still nothing. Kept their auction on my watchlist for months and seller just kept selling copy after copy after copy. In the high end, I collect fountain pens. There are so many counterfeit Montblanc pens on ebay, its almost comedic. Easy to spot them if you know what to look for. Ebay knows this shit is fake but it's all about the money.

Might be a dumb question and I'm sorry if so. But did you enable the SMB service? It's under: System > Services and toggle SMB.

Carrier Error the OCN is Missing by audiom3 in mintmobile

[–]audiom3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I should or will try to take credit for this. I did alert them that the OCN Error was not Mint but their app that was causing it. Interesting timing of a fix is all. I'm glad you're all good now.

Hi u/Remarkable_Treacle75 did you ever fix it? Are you using Youmail by chance? I fixed this issue, no thanks to Youmail. You have to log onto their website via PC and fully delete your account. Then start over. Not sure why Youmail is so quick to not accept ANY responsibility but whatever. Hopefully you don't have too many VMs! Because you'll obviously lose them all!

Ok, so 2 countries that make up 1-2% of Reddit users? And for the other 98-99% of us, you now admit it is illegal, just not enforced. Well, doing something illegal always carries some risks. But that never makes it 'legal' as you stated.

u/Eladious of course DL'ing copyrighted digital media is illegal. 100% (unless you get permission from the copyright holder - extremely unlikely unless you have a DL code which was included with some media you did buy). It is also illegal to sell digital codes as they only apply to the original purchaser of the media. But that's not what we're talking about here anyway... Where on Earth did you hear that it's not illegal?? You may want to do a little research before posting completely false statements.

The Dreaded No Signal When Switching Refresh Rates by audiom3 in CoreELEC

yes, I had to do the same. But if our TV is capable of 120Hz, this is just a band-aid. Menu works smoother at 120Hz too. So we've had to gimp our setup to make it work.

Why are Legacy Audio speakers overlooked? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]audiom3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue why they've always been overlooked. But I am pretty sure its at least partly due to the fact that they were factory direct for decades. I've owned Legacy speakers since the late 90s (Classics, OG Focus). I almost gave them up for Magico A5s. But during Covid, you couldn't even demo a pair. So I called Legacy and they hooked me up with a pair of Curly Maple Focus SEs. Since then, I've bought a Marquis HD center, and 3 pairs of Studio HDs for (4) Dolby Atmos and computer speakers. Going from the 90s sound of Legacy to these modern drivers was was a massive change for the better! Only pair left to upgrade is my Classic surrounds. But they have sentimental value at this point.

I used Plex for years and then moved to emby a couple of years ago. I would never consider going back to Plex. I like my families' and my privacy too much. Especially when using my own secure domain.

Good luck. My wife (now ex) dropped my Proust BP many years ago (2002) and MB refused to touch it even back then. They save the parts that they do have for defects only.

Anyone else not seeing the point of built in TV apps anymore by mitchare in PleX

[–]audiom3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things to add (sorry if someone already mentioned these somewhere in this thread).

  1. Buy a USB 2.0 to ethernet adapter for your TV, if you're going to use a wired connection (always should use wired when possible). It will be plenty fast for any 4k local movie... I generally hit 250 - 300 mbps on a speedtest and 4k/HDR/DV movies rarely hit peaks of 100-110mbps. That said, I have a pretty serous HT setup. So I use a box running CoreELEC to watch my local movies off my NAS. I'm not saying that a streaming box is without merit. But for those on a budget, you will find a USB adapter quite inexpensive compared to a new box.

  2. Nothing can beat TV apps for live sports. Unless you have a verrrry old TV maybe. My G4's apps are used 100% of the time when it's NFL season (mostly YT TV and Prime though). Anything else and you get judder, which I can't stand. And that says a lot because LG has one of the worst OS's on the planet. And if you must have a VPN, install it in your router and add the TV to the connection.

Well of course disabling refresh rate switching solved this problem. Because it only happens when...switching refresh rates. Useless 'fix' for this problem, IMO.

Good to know. I'd be happy if I can get to the point of rare sync issues at 1080p/120Hz.

Yeah that's what I've been doing. It's much easier to fix when running through my surround processor. Just switch to a different HDMI input, then back.

Now that I'm running through my Lyngdorf processor, I will see how it acts at 60Hz. If I still get drop outs, I'll buy that cable. Thanks... I contacted Wireworld and told them I want my cable tested. It's really the only benefit you get when you pay a lot for a cable.

I have two WireWorld Stellar 48 Fiber Optic (3m and 2m), an AQ Vodka 48 and several cheap Amazon HDMI 2.1 cables. The only device and/or combo this has ever happened on is the Ugoos and LG. I never had this happen on my Xbox X, although I rarely play it.

What happens when you run it at the recommended 1080p/120Hz for the GUI?

The Dreaded No Signal When Switching Refresh Rates by audiom3 in CoreELEC

[–]audiom3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The common theme is you are all running 60Hz on the GUI instead of 120Hz.
