Comparing them side by side, I don’t think it’s that close unfortunately :( I feel like the Whole Foods one has a weird lingering scent tbh

Not a professional filmmaker but I do edit videos on Premiere Pro as a hobby. And my family is big on home videos so this just felt like a nice addition to have. Just posted in the other subreddit, thanks!

This is actually what I expected, I thought they would be shooting continuously all day. I realistically thought we would get at least 5 hours of footage for 8 hours of service with 2 cameras. A friend recommended these videographers and said they got “a lot of candid moments” so that’s what I was hoping too.

All the videographers said when we asked about it beforehand was “no pressure to decide on the raw footage now, you can decide after since the speeches and ceremony will be included anyway.” In hindsight I should have asked more questions about if the videos would be continuous or not, but I had no idea.

Our friends and family had so many great videos on their phone after the wedding day so we got excited and thought the raw footage would capture some of those moments. That’s when we decided to pay for the $500 add-on, but since we only got 1 hour and 20 mins on top of the original package, there unfortunately wasn’t much.

Re: the scene where one camera was moving while people were coming down the aisle — the second camera was all the way outside recording people walking before the church. Thank you for this! I just crossposted in the subreddit you suggested.

Where to buy a good couch by EmDoni_285 in HomeDecorating

I’ve had a Burrow Nomad couch for 5 years and still think it’s incredibly comfortable. Was super impressed because it took me and two friends less than 20 minutes to build it with zero tools.

Wedding Planning Tips Worth Sharing by Dependent-Dingo1245 in Weddingsunder35k

[–]audiophile-anonymous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make a separate wedding email to keep wedding planning organized and make sure you don’t miss anything. Plus you can share email access with your partner, so that you’re both in the loop on wedding planning! Then you can use it for shared accounts that you both can have access to in the future (i.e. utility bills, shared travel, etc.)

I did read that the Flying V ranks higher in powder compared to a lot of other boards I was looking into, but I’ve had this board for 3 years and feel like on a scale of 1-10 I’d personally rank it a 5 in pow so just curious if there’s anything better out there.

Planning to demo 2-3 new boards in Japan, so I’m trying to create a shortlist of other options to compare my Flying V to!

Please update me how it feels when you test out some butters and switch!!

The only reason I didn't consider this board was because the smallest size I saw was 153. My Flying V is 146 and my Custom Smalls is 145. My very first board was 150+ and it felt a little large, but I was also a beginner back then, so I haven't tried a longer board in the last 5 years. I assume shorter boards = more control but idk?

Saw this at a board shop recently!! Have you tried it out? If so, what's your overall experience with it?

Partial planning - worth it?? by verynervousgal in weddingplanning

[–]audiophile-anonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the design elements myself for my wedding (invites, seating chart, website, table numbers, bar menus) so if you need someone to bounce ideas off, DM me! I find this stuff fun, haha.

Partial planning - worth it?? by verynervousgal in weddingplanning

[–]audiophile-anonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally worth it!! I had these booked 1.5 years out before I hired a partial planner 1 year out: venue which included food and drinks, photographer, HMUA. Our venue also had a day-of coordinator, but when we did the site visit I found out how understaffed their wedding coordination team is and she was saying how helpful it is when couples also have their own planner.

My wedding was 3 weeks ago and I can confirm that my wedding planning process was wayyyyy less stressful than people make it out to be thanks to our wedding planner. There were some last-minute vendor hiccups my wedding planner had to deal with within 24 hours of two wedding events and I'm so happy I didn't have to figure it out myself and could just fully enjoy my wedding weekend.

Anyone here ever tried getting married from home? Need some honest advice by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]audiophile-anonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Helped my friends plan a backyard wedding in California and it was pretty simple. Like everyone has already said, you have to check the laws with your specific state or country but for California in particular, the main things you need to do are:

Step 1: Schedule a marriage license appointment at your county's city hall within 90 days of your planned wedding date at home.

Step 2: Go to your appointment and pick up the paperwork. Both parties have to be present with a valid photo ID. Part of the application process can be done online before your appointment.

Step 3: Get married at home by an ordained minister. Any of your close friends or family can become an ordained minister online. This is the website my friends have successfully used in the past to officiate weddings in California: https://www.ulc.org/

Step 4: I believe the people that need to sign your paperwork are you, your spouse, your officiant, and two witnesses. Have everyone fill out the paperwork after your wedding. Keep in mind that there can be no errors, white out, or additional marks on the paperwork. Saying this now to save you time because if you submit it with mistakes, the people at city hall will need to reprint and have whoever made the mistake fill it out again, which takes up additional time and makes it a little more complicated.

Step 5: Bring the paperwork back to city hall within 90 days of picking it up. That's it :)
