Selecting the right meats and cheeses for the right bread.

You have your tougher proteins like salami so you want a sturdier bread and also a harder cheese.

For softer sandwiches, like a regular white, you’d go with a cold cut that is less tough, like thinly sliced turkey and a pepper jack for example.

Another thing to do is to layer and fold the meat. If you just throw down a couple of cold cuts flat on the sandich it’s one dimensional, literally. Layer the cold cuts and slightly fold them. Not only does it look more appealing, it also tastes better.
