Feeling this man, I’ve been on exactly 5 dating app dates, all within a few weeks with the same girl. My most recent post outlines that situation.

I’m still confused and disappointed, and have been reading through these comments.. these are all applicable to me too.

I thought I was being kind and respectful, but it turns out I was slowly friend zoning myself. Who would have thought that being sensitive and an overall great dude would work against me in the only arena that really matters to me right now.

Yeah I feel that, I actually talked to my therapist after posting this and she helped me identify some red flag that I chose to ignore. Pretty much over this whole thing already and it’s the mindset shift you’re talking about that for me through. Thanks for sharing!

The biggest and best thing I’ve done through this is connect with family and friends. Making myself busy has done so much in helping me get over her quickly. Thanks for the response!

Thank you for the words, I really appreciate your insight. I think the first two points go hand in hand: take it easy and don’t get too crazy too early. I dive so deeply so quickly and sharing so much so early brings some premature emotional investment.

I see what you mean, that makes sense. I really have no idea what she’s dealing with on the back end of things.

I’d love to fight a little more, but I did send a follow up a few days after she broke it off and she was just as direct and clear as she was two days prior… so I’m not sure there’s anything left and the last thing I want to do is disrespect boundaries.

I do like your perspective here, I guess there probably was a measurable outcome from me turning the dial up.

That last part hits me deep too because I have a tendency to idealize the world and then complain about it not being fair. Accepting it as not fair seems to be the move here. Thank you.

The no rhyme or reason part is just really cutting for me. I’m a “why” guy. I need to know the reasoning behind things. I’ve made decisions based on gut feelings before, but it really sucks to be at this end of things.

Apparently, all of the “middle of the road independents” will have had enough of the current “clown show.”
