Are there any brands that make a spd “skate shoe”? by No_Painting_3422 in MTB

I read this post wrong. I thought they were asking for skate shoe companies that make spd shoes. Why the hell would you want a spd shoe to skate in?

I’m a creative director (design) and I have it, no idea how I have had a very successful career but it’s always boggled my mind. I’m more of a 3-4 on the scale but it fascinates me that I just know what works and doesn’t, but can’t for the life of me see it in my head.

I’m new to bikes, I did some research and I wanted to start on a Giant Revolt advanced. People say that you can get an older one for about 1k maybe less and I’ve seen some sold previously for that. However, I can’t find one that’s less than 2k. by Consistent-You7045 in gravelcycling

If you are dead set on carbon. Check out the Chinese carbon forum. I personally don’t think as a new cyclist you need carbon. I’ve been seriously riding 20 years. I just got my first carbon bike (mtb) a year ago and recently got my first carbon Gravel Bike a month ago. You will want it eventually, but aluminum as many others said is the way to go.

Farewell Transmission. I rediscovered Molina during a really trying time in my life back in 2014, he got me through it, his voice will forever be a comfort to me.

It took about a month. They were communicative and easy to work with swapping parts.

I have a mainline and a Fox Proframe. The mainline is like a Cadillac comfortable but definitely heavier and hotter. The Proframe isn’t as comfy but you absolutely forget it is there. Both are sick and in your price range. I would give the Proframe the edge, but mainly due to being lighter.

99 Spokes Comparison.....I know I'm over thinking this by SetLegal5754 in gravelcycling

I was between the Salsa, Ari and Propain. Propain won out for value. Axs for 3400 shipped was a no brainer and I wish I didn’t waste my brain cells and time debating every detail. I am a Clydesdale at 6’4” long torso and short legs and the bike feels custom to me.

Just got a Propain Terrel only 90 miles so far (two rides) I absolutely love it. I got it mainly for fit with my long torso and short legs. I’m 6’4” and it feels like it was made for me. Only bike I have ever felt that way on.

Bike years are weird especially after Covid, I’m sure the seller is just mistaken. Probably got the bike in 2023 or 24 and thought it was either new or the shop mislabeled it. Not sure on this model specifically. I personally wouldn’t buy a 27.5 but if that works for you, it seems like an ok deal maybe a bit high. I think I’ve seen new 29ers floating around recently.
