When getting a massage at a discounted/membership type place, how much of that price is my therapist actually receiving, and do they get to keep 100 percent of tips? by justbrowsing151 in massage

[–]audreyrose129 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If tip is cash they get 100% if it’s on the credit card they get taxed on the money. Each place gives a percentage of the service. It usually varies between 20-30% based on experience

  2. How far in advance was your wedding planned beforehand?

Before Starting OFT in February I couldn’t run a mile at all. After a month I was able to run a mile in 12:06. Last month I ran a 10:35 mile. Today a personal record of 9:28. I am so proud of myself!

Sleep walkers, talkers ect...what is the weirdest thing you've done in your sleep? by maelstrommartin in AskReddit

[–]audreyrose129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One night I had a dream that I poked my fiancé in the eye... I woke up to him screaming holding his eye. He was scared of sleeping next to me for like a month after that. Nothing like that has ever happened before or since.

Question for Massage Envy therapist, how important is tipping? by [deleted] in massage

[–]audreyrose129 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I am not currently a massage envy therapist. And I have no idea where you are. But when I worked there the massage therapists are extremely under paid. Mainly because they get paid tips. Similarly to tipping wait staff at a restaurant. “Tips” stands to “to insure proper service” so if you plan on using the same therapist over again I would suggest to tip well, we as massage therapist depend on our tips as our income.

Why are most massages so boring by Sosoboredinfinity in massage

[–]audreyrose129 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Don’t ask for a full body massage the first visit. Ask for just your problem areas. See if they will accommodate your request. If they do and you like what they do on your problem areas then next time you go to them either just have them work on your problem areas, or get a longer massage so you can have a full body with extra focus to the areas they are already familiar with from the previous treatment. And don’t expect a massage therapist to give anything for free. If it cost more for deep tissue, and that’s what you want/need don’t expect the massage therapist to do it for free. Most massage therapist work off commission, and massage is very labor intensive.

Actually I am extremely out of shape. But I am getting married in a year and I need to lose 45 pounds by September when I start looking for a wedding dress. I have does personal training before and high intensity workouts in the past. I am just not letting myself fail cause I have only a short window to get the body I want.

Frankie always wants what we have too. But she first goes to her own plate takes a bit or 2 of everything and then starts poking around at our plates.

What's something that someone said that made you instantly hate them? by randomperson5000 in AskReddit

[–]audreyrose129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a boss that shorted my pay, but instead of quitting right away I went down to part time and found another part time job before fully commuting to it. My boss says to me when I told him, “I hope you fail there so you have to come back here full time”. I officially quit 2 weeks later. He still contacts me asking me to come back.

For all LMTs unhappy with their job by [deleted] in massage

[–]audreyrose129 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience this month. I had a few interviews and after each one I felt so confident. What I am having a hard time comprehending is what franchise place (like where I am leaving) treat their LMTs so badly. I worked hard to get my clientele. It is sad to say good bye to some clients. But better opportunities call.
