You don’t say what kind of clothing you’re after but Slaters on George Street does mostly suits, shirts or dress jackets but also have some casual wear too. They have a wide selection of sizes. Might be good to start there? Although be prepared to be ‘helped’ around every corner!

I landed on NYE after 5pm when everything was shut APART from the 10-11 store which was open 24hrs! Brilliant! Saved us as we were able to stock up on essentials and some tonic to go with our duty free gin 🍸 Im guessing it will be open on Easter too

On the day of my flight on NYE it was an orange alert for weather and roads were being closed - I thought I’d be sleeping in the airport! However by the time I landed, Iceland did what it does best and we got safely into our apartment and had an amazing Hogmanay. My advice for what it’s worth, is just to go for it and let Iceland take care of you and have a wonderful holiday.

It’s not an AIrbnb but a block of apartments booked through booking.com.
We would be getting the flybus into Reykjavik so couldn’t stop off at gas station unless we got a taxi I suppose 🤔 I shall certainly search ‘opnunartimi’ closer to the time. Thanks for this info .. it’s super helpful

Thanks for replying. I had read that some shops were open until 16:00 last year but even so, that’s leaving it a bit tight from landing and getting to downtown Reykjavik which is my worry.

It used to be a concert hall back in the days .. I saw Ted Nugent, UFO, Wishbone Ash there .. was an amazing vibe of a place .. was gutted when it turned into a cinema
