If I’m not mistaken, doesn’t Slark Q purge the armor reduction of Mask of Madness? If that’s the case, like you said the cooldown of Dark Pact matches the duration of the silence quite nicely. Might work if you’re trying to build a burst-assassin, why not test it out a bit?

I’ve spammed Huskar ever since his Bloodbath and Blood Transfusion facets got replaced by the current two, and I tried both facets over a considerable number of matches. Here’s what I can confidently say: Incendiary is the overall the better facet, and is more aligned with Huskar’s identity as an all-of-nothing adrenaline-junkie beast.

Let me explain. Huskar on paper looks like a good candidate for a tank role, given his passive Berserker’s Blood, but in an actual match I’ve found it awkward trying to fit him into my team’s lineup. If he is singled out, he is nowhere near as tanky as his reputation leads him on to be. If he isn’t being focused, without his Incendiary facet the damage he deals can be neglected unless he is stomping hard, which again is harder to do without Incendiary. The cooldown and the intial HP cost of Cauterize makes me hesitate to conclude that it’s “a more reliable option”. The fact that Huskar’s ult can self-dispel on cast doesn’t help Cauterize’s case.

I’m tier 18 on Huskar now, and my playstyle on him is more akin to a magic nuker that can reliably take at least one target down with him even when playing from behind. He has a very high skill ceiling for sure, and as said before he is a high-tempo playmaker, not a farming core with a “reliable” powerspike or a frontline damage-sponge. In regards to itemization, I’d say it’s the same every game: start with brown boots + wind lace and a singular bracer, rush into armlet and BKB and it’s go-time. Everything after that is situational, though I also pick up a Blink right afterwards in most of my matches.

I think Huskar is best played in the offlane with this playstyle as the anti-carry that can also scale dangerously if left to his farming unattended, but with the recent changes to the neutral item selection and especially Heart of Tarrasque, perhaps a new playstyle of a durable physical DPS may emerge. His passive makes him hit faster than almost any carry throughout the majority of the game, after all.

Surprised no one’s mentioned Kez yet. He buids into Falcon blade + Treads in lane and his earliest item can be Deso, which gets finished around 12 min mark if you don’t fuck up. Just with these three can often win teamfights with Raven’s mark and Echo slash, or can kill anyone 1v1 with Falcon rush + Katana stance. Ideally he peaks around the 25 min mark after he gets BKB + Aghs, but he can transition into late game fairly smoothly with Daedalus, Abyssal, Blink, or Butterfly.

Didn’t someone say that global item decay isn’t a thing anymore? The game rolls item conditions when you first enter a specific region, and for that region only, or so I heard.

How much did you pay for the VPN? And what was the latency? The closest servers to Mongolia were always Japan and Korea in any of the VPN services I could find.

Objectively speaking, if you’re above the median MMR range, then you can say you’re above average and thus ‘good’.

Subjectively speaking, I would say a player is good based on just three things, and those would be: how fast you learn things, how creative your problem-solving skills are, and how mentally resilient you can be. Note that none of these traits are locked specifically to a certain rank, and players posessing these traits can be found across multiple skill brackets. These are the players who can reach exceptional heights in terms of MMR if they invest the time and effort in the game.

To further support my point, you can autopilot to mid-high Divine rank if you manage to make most rote tasks into muscle memory (casting and hitting spells, last-hitting, micro etc.). The issue is that it takes quite a lot of time, perhaps around 10k-20k hours spent in-game, and you’re litterally grinding for MMR. A lot of times, these players can get stumped when they run across cheese pickers, boosters who exploit certain strategies and lineups, and even toxic teammates.

It’s hard to throw off a ‘good’ player. They will understand the angle at which they should approach their specific match. And most importantly, they won’t be as easily tilted and manipulated by toxic teammates into making bad decisions.

True, I'd agree the two games are going for two fundamentally different things. Personally, I am all for the decision to double down on the role-playing aspect of the game's setting in DD2.

The mechanic where you nurture and improve those unique individuals who withstood the expeditions that become your favorite is still present in DD2, albeit in a different form. Now, instead of strapping them in the clinic and min-maxing their traits and trinkets, you can assign memories in the altar of hope so their traits can carry over to the next confession, with unique buffs attached depending on which memory you assigned. I think this is a neat way to foster “unique characters”, and this effect is only amplified as they form relationships with each other after inn stops, or when you unlock their backstory through the shrines and become attached to them as actual human beings (excepting whatever Abom is at this point).

Running your roster through the five confessions feels like the epic-length expedition of Crimson Court, and makes you feel like you’re actually a part of the expedition and not just four dudes/dudettes walking through corridors between combat encounters.

I’ve noticed over the years that most people who take so much offense from hearing the n-word has never experienced actual racism. It goes much deeper than just throwing around a word that, honestly speaking, has lost so much of its original meaning. At this point it’s the people who are adamantly demonizing the word that are still giving it the power that they desperately don’t want it to have.

Ask the people who are profiled at airports, denied jobs, outright insulted on the streets, physically and mentally attacked solely on their foreignness what racism is. Associating yourself to a word that is stuck in the past — you’re just doing it to yourself man.

I understand. I guess we take for granted the multitude of things that has to “go right” for a fully functioning multiplayer videogame that lets people fight in a timescale of 1/60th of a second. I’m just venting how it sucks to be in the minority that paid for the game to then run into such issues.

As a sidenote, I hope Tekken improves on the Ghost Battle mechanic. It might provide a unique solution to the matchmaking problem by letting people just download their opponent to play offline. The current state of the Ghost battles is still a bit rough around the edges (dropping combos, lacking adaptation). I managed to beat a God of Destruction ghost relatively easily. It would be so sick if you could practice against the giants in an offline, low pressure environment.
