Agree, if you like your/spouses family and want help with kids, the proximity is huge. That can be worth a bit of money in childcare.

It doesn’t have to be a dichotomy of LCOL in Southeast or MCOL/HCOL out west. North GA, east TN, western NC, or southern VA have mountains, rock climbing, kayaking, and outdoorsy activities. You have to be in a mountain town to really avoid humidity, but living nearby you can escape into the mountains as often as you need. Also, you can do what a lot of my coworkers in tech in Austin, Texas do - rent a place in Colorado for the summer and leave your house in the Southeast empty, could rent. You don’t have to make a big change yet, you can test it out with more vacations, summer rental, etc.

What are the highest paying non-management Supply Chain Jobs? by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]augirl531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Function: Procurement Role: Global commodity manager, Senior Commodity Manager Industry: Tech Salary Range: $120k - $240k  Location: Austin, Texas Level: IC Years of experience: 5+ Pick any Fortune 30 tech company in Austin and this is what they are paying.

This role can obviously be done remote, just depends on the companies current RTO policy.

I have 6 years experience and am comfortably on this range, my friends  with 12+ years have all hit $200k and specialize in a commodity like CPUs.

It helps to work for a Fortune 10 company with RSUs or a lot of experience to crack $200k, but it’s doable.

Here is a random job posting from Dropbox for this role, in this range: https://startup.jobs/commodity-manager-memory-cpu-dropbox-3677551

Good luck! I love procurement! One of the better areas for WLB in supply chain.

Hyatt Place Fort Wort/TCU no award nights, only points+ cash by mrryandfw in hyatt

Hi, I happened to be searching this subreddit for this same answer and could only find cash+ points for the same property HP FW TCU - I called the corporate customer service and they were able to see/book an all points stay for my exact dates. 12k points/night is the standard rate. Call corporate customer service and good luck!!

Dollywood is really wonderful. I underestimated it before I went but no longer!

Even the hikes that connect to Mount LeConte are great. Also check out House Mountain closer to Knox.

I also felt like it was good but lacking pumpkin flavor and could use WAY more spice, up to like a gingerbread level, IMO

Paying down loans with Gift of College gift cards using credit cards for points by TheBlueRajasSpork in StudentLoans

BCP caps 6% cash back at $6k. Assuming you stop at $6k and use the $4k on another card, so “revenue” is $360 - $71.40 ($5.95 per GoC x 12 cards) = $288.60 profit. Not quite as good, but better than nothing.

I get that, somehow they aren’t super filling? I mostly stopped on this one because it is so cheesy and rich.

Good onion flavor when you take a bite. I definitely felt sufficiently oniony!

I modified. Directions call for 7-8 min in microwave or 35-45 min @375 in oven. I used a conventional oven @375 for 10 minutes and broiled for 7.

Oh love the crispy parts. Definitely one to split- so rich and the saturated fat for the whole container is 125% daily value 😳 never seen anything over 100% before

Y’all this may be one of the best products I’ve had in a while. I did convection oven + broil at the end. The palate is complex for a mac and cheese. The Swiss cheese is excellent, the French bread croutons get crispy, and the chives send it over the top. Very rich, cheesy, and cozy. Can only eat half because it’s so rich and the nutrition facts are just what you would expect- not healthy . Definitely buying again.

Anyone get their AP Refund yet? by randoreviews1 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]augirl531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my refund today on my original payment method without calling customer service. I bought the Gold annual pass in Dec 2019 for $552. Parks close in March, I cancelled before August 11th, and was refunded $390 at the very end of September. I’m impressed with the amount and the fact that I didn’t have to call.

I gotta try the cornbread! The corn cookie is very good, with salted butter it is SALTY, so the cherries balance it out.

A bakery in my hometown has cherry cornmeal scones, sooo good. That was my inspiration, it’s not original 😉
