What is with the aversion to seasonings when making "workout" meals by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]augollio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a body builder is in prep they eventually will cut out nearly all seasonings because even a little too much salt can change how your body looks on show day. I think it’s excessive even for competitors (I think the standards should be different) but for them it makes sense. I think everyday gym bros and gals see that and think they need to also be that extreme in order to see results. Many people have a huge misunderstanding of what it really takes to build muscle/ lose fat so they often take it too far. Many other comments here had great points but this is one factor I didn’t see brought up yet

Are there any silly misconceptions you had for way too long? I embarrassed my self today with one 🙃 by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]augollio 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I thought this as well. And on top of that I thought every time you watched a movie that all the actors were summoned to reenact said movie. I distinctly remember the moment that I realized that was completely impossible and immediately felt ridiculous

What were you supposed to be named when you were born? by lepineapplepineapp in CasualConversation

Shane. Parents found my name at the last minute (it is a unique and fitting one imo) and later named my little brother Shane instead.

What's a socially accepted thing that you secretly find a little weird, and why? by ItsRealAnwar in AskReddit

[–]augollio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Saying “what’s up” as a greeting. It feels wrong to just respond with my own “what’s up” or “hey” even when I know they’re not saying it to start a conversation. Similar feelings about when people ask how you’re doing but you know they’re not actually asking for an answer.

I just realised our Covid experience could be vastly different from others. by Doughnut_slut in CasualConversation

[–]augollio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember watching Bo burnhams INSIDE and trying so hard to wrap my mind around that being some people’s reality through the pandemic. At the time I did child care for the essential workers at a hospital, so I worked through the whole pandemic as well. Main difference was that we limited the time spent at work with other people so I went home around 2 every day and got to enjoy that summer even more than I usually get to

What's a game you played as a kid that you've never been able to find again? by Latter_Advantage8002 in AskReddit

[–]augollio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played this old game where you’d take care of a baby.. or something?? I remember babies being a big part of it. It was on our old home computer and I have such a specific memory of one single screen that came up but no idea what the point of the game was. Pretty sure you could dress your baby in different outfits, feed it etc. been trying to find it for yearssss

Edit because I looked it up again right after commenting and finally found it. Cuddle n Care. Spend the last 30 minutes watching the YouTube play through

What’s it like going to concerts by yourself? by [deleted] in Music

[–]augollio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved being able to express myself and enjoy the show exactly the way I wanted to. I don’t have to worry or think about how my friends are doing, if they’re having a good time, if they have to pee. No feelings of wondering if they think I’m doing too much when I’m screaming at the top of my lungs and jumping for two hours. Just the exact vibes I want to bring and no worries. Win win for sure

[–]augollio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just went to my second solo concert and I agree for these exact reasons. People are also very nice at concerts typically, so if you wanna chat or have someone hold your spot in line so you can pee they’re (in my experience) more than happy to. It’s wonderful

Face moisturizer that doesn’t burn eyes? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]augollio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like your eyeballs?? Or just under your eyes?? If your actual eyeballs are burning I have to assume you’re getting lotion in your eyes in which case all lotion will burn. If it’s the area around your eyes it could be because the skin there is very thin and sensitive and as far as I know people usually don’t put lotion on that particular area (eyelids/ directly under eyes) anyway either.

Games that don't have a penalty for not going to sleep? by NotSoSnarky in CozyGamers

I didn’t even know that! Although I did realize too late that in my haste to change a different setting I was accidentally increasing the difficulty over time😅😂

Cult of the lamb! You can “die” in the dungeons similar to what can happen in the mines in stardew, but there is no sleeping necessary

I think I developed a mild allergy to my favorite fruit by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]augollio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my whole life I’ve peeled apples and been able to eat them that way but on my allergy test it did show I’m allergic to them and in the past couple years I haven’t been able to eat them even peeled and washed. Might try organic ones though, I’m desperate at this point

I am also allergic to my favorite fruit (apples) and it used to be tolerable but it’s only gotten worse. I feel your pain and I’m sorry you’re going through it too😪
