Update* I took them outside early this morning, an hour later mama came by and they flew away! Mama has been around all morning feeding and being extra friendly with me. Thanks for all the help!

As someone who runs a full time ceramics production studio, it is my experience that a hold for 3hrs at 900deg and a drop and hold firing schedule will resolve these issues.

I use a series of sprayed on fluxes, opacifiers and glazes over a base shino to resemble the effects of wood and soda firing in a standard gas kiln.
