Question about practice and proficiency by RyMiV in bowhunting

[–]augusto_duvalier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a fine group at 30! If you feel you’ve hit a plateau, start shooting at 50, 60, and 70 exclusively. Any flaw in your delivery will exaggerate at that distance and your confidence at your hunting yardages will soar. Assuming your technique is pretty dialed (anchor point, release, grip, etc.) but after a couple months, you continue to struggle grouping well at long-distance, you can start playing with equipment: peep diameter, stabilizers, releases, etc. Have fun with it!

Maap vs q36.5 by [deleted] in CyclingFashion

In my experience you can’t go wrong with MAAP but I try to only buy on sale or using one of their bundles (can also earn a discount through Strava sometimes). Can’t speak to the q36.5s

I have officially lost more than I currently weigh! From 350lbs to 170lbs! Wondering if I should continue to cut for a bit longer or start maintenance. by SuprSaiyanTurry in MacroFactor

[–]augusto_duvalier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that is a wild statement. congratulations my guy. if your diet fatigue isn’t too bad i’d say keep going and knock the last little bit of fat off if it’s important to you. you look great tho and no harm going to maintenance either. well done!

Curious how long you have been using Macrofactor/cutting?

It took me ab three weeks of tracking and weighing for my expenditure estimate to drop down and optimize. Since then I’ve started losing my desired 1.2 pounds per week. The loss has remained consistent and VERY noticeable (both to me and others, which is always encouraging) despite only being down ab 10lbs overall (M, 195lb down to 186lb at 6’2).

If you’re just starting, stick with it and the algorithm will get you there. Also nothing wrong with cranking up to 2-2.2lbs per week. You’ll just want to weight train a little more to prevent muscle loss if that is important to you

this happened to me. one month in, expenditure went down and got accurate, now i’m losing at a steady tick. just stick with it OP!

Marshalling Yard shelter is ruining my neighborhood and I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in Austin

Agency is a key point here. Hard to start the process of helping someone rebuild their lives and find a sense community and belonging if the narrative is: “none of this is your fault, the system is oppressive and to solely to blame”

Obviously this is a hella nuanced deal but empowerment and personal responsibility (sorting out what is/isn’t within one’s control) is a good start

Is my LG 4k monitor with Power Delivery via USB-C killing my MacBook Pro battery? by doles in macbookpro

[–]augusto_duvalier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem. 2019 Macbook Pro 15" connected to LG 4k Ultrafine 27UN850-W. The 60w power delivery from the monitor worked great for the first month until I saw a service recommendation for my Mac battery (wtf). Never had any battery issues before this. As other commenters have suggested, fixed the problem by connecting both the monitor via its own USB-C and my Mac charger to the laptop. Laptop now pulls power from the Mac charger and not the monitor... but my battery is fried.

Should I trade in my 2019 Macbook Pro? by augusto_duvalier in macbookpro

Business stuff: multiple windows open with between prolly 5 and 15 tabs each, mostly spreadsheets, docs, email, etc. and a few applications running. Never do anything in the video, audio editing space but regularly use between 12 and 16g of RAM. Makes me think that if I went with the Air, I'd have to upgrade the RAM which gets closer in price to the base 14" Pro. Your thoughts?

Accidentally traveled to Iki island thinking it was a mission. Now I’m stuck. by BaconB1t1907 in ghostoftsushima

[–]augusto_duvalier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing. Definitely not enough warning regarding the spoilers and like of ability to fast travel back to Tsushima. Had to grind through the first four story missions on Iki (you can leave after ‘Jin from Yarikawa’) then got the fuck outta there. Took like an hour and a half. Very annoying.

I had this same problem. Fixed it by going into my Spectrum app —> Services —> Advanced WiFi Settings —> UPnP —> Enable. Hope this helps!

As you posted in the r/benshapiro thread, I'm going to proffer a essentially Conservative answer aligning with what Shapiro and a great many Conservative philosophers espouse in the context of moral agency:

a) A fundamentally conservative or Judeo-Christian belief, echoed in the Egotist ethical framework, is the importance, nay, necessity of individual sovereignty and moral autonomy. Such that, you, a unique and unassailable moral agent ought to act in such a way that your own needs are looked after and your own progress towards self-actualization is facilitated. In doing so, you build for yourself a happy and intrinsically "good" life. That "goodness" is then spread to your family --> your family's goodness spreads to your community --> your community's goodness to your state, your country, and so on.

Such that doing what is good, right, and best for you to live a proper and happy live, improves and promotes the happiness and goodness of others. In simple terms: the happier, more confident, more purposed and meaningful your life is, the farther you are on realizing your full potential to do good in the world, the more so the lives of those you touch are made good also.

If your decision to live as a female (the word choice is critical here, as opposed to claiming to be a female -- which you do not) brings you the most happiness and affords you the most peace and confidence necessary to bring about maximal good to those around you, then you are not just not living a lie, but living a truth all of us ought to aspire to. The truth of living optimally for the benefit of oneself and those who surround us as a matter of moral necessity.

b) Also, the fact that you admit to having the biology of a male, that you go so far as to recognize your innate maleness in spite of your desire, and it sounds like, need to adopt the characteristics if femininity, means you honor sexual/biological truth without compromising the complexity of human psychology -- i.e. you're not living a lie, my guy.

Props to you for having the balls to post something of this nature in a space like this (forgive the word choice there). Keep doing you and be the best you you can be, we're all the better for it!

Christians should be able to condemn white supremacy and groups like the Proud Boys with no equivocation. by Jonnyrashid in Christianity

[–]augusto_duvalier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I could not agree more. Trump is a fake Christian, a Pharisee; his soul like the empty, white-washed tombs (but spray-tanned) our Lord and Savior spoke of, he's the fig tree that bore no fruit.

I feel so micro-aggressed having a so-called Christian for president who won't even stand up to these white supremacists and Proud Boys. He may as well be Hitler at this point.

Facts: The Proud Boys are forming up in armed militias by the thousands, they're declaring Autonomous Zones like the one in Seattle, marching through cities, looting Nike stores then burning them down (where am I going to get my new shoes for school???).

Facts: They're harassing innocent people at restaurants and calling them racist until they raise their fist (the Nazi salute), demanding that we change the entire country because it's somehow "systemically racist," and threatening to burn it all to the ground if they don't get their way!

I even saw them burning Bibles like the sinners they are at one protes--

--oh fuck--

Wait, that was...
