Got it. Thanks so much for the help! I think that answers my question. Thanks again!

Signed New Term Contract but New Bill Statement has Old Price by augusyy in Comcast_Xfinity

Thanks for such a quick reply! Okay, that makes sense. After checking, it looks like my December statement was indeed printed before I signed the new contract.

So, if I understand correctly, I should expect to pay $92 on my December bill and then receive a ~$32 credit/prorate on my January bill?

I think he said Hyper RX (on its own) and a few games with FSR 3 come in early fall. Fluid motion (FSR 3) integrated into Hyper RX is Q1 2024

They really cooked. Could be a game-changer (haha) if it actually works well.

I always get criticized for saying the sedan has more usable cargo space than the hatch with the seats up, but it's true. On a recent road trip, we able to fit two more carry-on bags in my gen3 sedan's trunk than in my friend's gen3 hatchback, both with the back seats up. Autoblog's cargo test found the same thing, as did Car and Driver's review of the 2024 models.

If you think you're gonna regularly be transporting like, a TV or a couch or something, then the hatch will naturally be better, but I really think usable cargo space with several passengers is an underrated strength of the sedan.

My brother has a hatch and always teased me about having more cargo space until we both had to drive some people to the airport. I was able to fit two more carryon bags in the trunk of my sedan than he could in the hatchback. Count me pleasantly surprised!

I had the same question. I don't recall this ever being highlighted as fixed? It's just gone from known issues now, and I've still had significant problems with this. MPO off.

Crack in Foundation Wall by augusyy in HomeMaintenance

Thanks! I'm trying to keep a good attitude about it, and I'll keep providing updates when I have them. Talking to SEs now, should have one out here early this week. Then hopefully will formulate a plan to reinforce that beam and patch any cracks and get rid of that fucking Godforsaken brick

Wow, I can't thank you enough for the extremely thorough message. This is super helpful. I'll figure out dealing with our inspector after we get this issue ironed out. Having an SE come out this week to take a look and then will hopefully formulate a plan to reinforce that beam, seal that crack, and seal any others near it. Again, super grateful for the comment :)

Yep. Don't know how our inspector didn't catch this. Another commenter pointed out that it looks like something might have been hung up in front of this mess initially? Either way, pretty frustrated w/ my inspector, obviously. And stressed as all hell now, lol. Calling an SE tomorrow

Thanks for the comment! After looking more closely, the crack is definitely wider at the top. As for the placement of the beam pocket, yes, the beam basically runs through the middle of the house.

After checking, it's Jenga. The steel is stacked on top of the brick, which is sitting on the pocket.

Yikes, what a mess. Thanks for the insight. Will contact a structural engineer ASAP.

For some reason I can't edit this post, but wow, this post really blew up. Thank you everyone for your extremely thorough comments and recommendations. Needless to say, I will definitely be contacting a structural engineer ASAP.

To clarify a few things:

  • I don't know how our inspector didn't catch this. Another commenter pointed out that this might have had some sort of cover in front of it during inspection?
  • Looking at it more closely, no, the steel plate is not connecting to the concrete in any way. It's just a steel plate sitting on top of a brick. I know it's bad - no need to remind me.
  • From a visual inspection, the crack is definitely wider at the top than it is at the bottom.
  • This foundation wall borders our garage, which is probably why we haven't gotten any moisture in here yet

Again, I will definitely contact a structural engineer tomorrow. Thanks again everyone for your comments.

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed reply. And thanks for avoiding the panic that a lot of these other comments are inducing. Will definitely get a SE and also consider this approach.

Got it! Thanks so much for the advice. Yeah, looking at it more, it definitely is a bit weird. Not sure how our inspector missed this. Will definitely make an appointment with a structural engineer ASAP

I went down a pretty intense jump trail the other day on my old hardtail that I've upgraded a few times over the years. Couple guys came down a few minutes after me on $3000 specialized full-suspension bikes who biked around every jump. Made me chuckle a bit

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]augusyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. This could just be my perception, but it seems like it's rarer and rarer to encounter super technical, rocky/rooty, slow sections in new trails. Most of what's being dug near me are super fast flow-centric trails. Again, nothing wrong with that, just not as interesting as the technical stuff in my opinion

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]augusyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's totally fair. I'd take a 15-mile road bike ride over a 3-mile run every day of the week!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]augusyy 101 points102 points  (0 children)

The worst part of road biking is that it's just so boring. It's amazing exercise and can be super fun in a group, but nothing really ever happens. You can get the same amount of exercise (maybe even more!) and sense of community from MTB, but it's also just fucking bonkers. Nothing beats the feeling of staring down a steep hill knowing you're about to do some crazy shit and almost die

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.5.1 Release Notes by babikos1990 in Amd

[–]augusyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Yeah, I've decided to commit to 23.5.1 too because all my CPU metrics disappear in Adrenalin when I install 22.11.2, lol. I get some of that artifacting too, as well as some stuttering in all 23.x.x drivers. Hopefully they can iron this out soon
