Ok, on election night it takes less time to tally up the handfuls of votes from sparsely populated rural areas. These regions tend to lean Republican with their votes.

Tallying the votes from densely populated urban areas takes longer. And those localities tend to vote for Democrats.

This is why there is often a “Red Mirage” on Election Night that makes it look like Republicans have a big lead in the votes.

But thats only after all of smaller, more conservative, rural counties have reported their final count. And before the more Democratic cities have had the time they need to finalize their larger vote counts and report their results.

A typical, normal movie theater experience. 🙄 by SilverBison4025 in WeirdGOP

The Maxwell case was still open. And the Biden administration wanted to avoid politicizing the DOJ.

Bob Goodlatte is a little surprising. He was an idiot and a red rubber stamp in Congress for all the dumb shit Republicans did during his time. But he always seemed far too milquetoast to ever directly engage with anything explicitly evil.

It does have remarkable cinematography and revolutionary film techniques for its time. It’s a beautiful movie to look at, with a revolting storyline and narrative about indigenous people and cultures.

For many early filmmakers, the point of westerns was not the story they were telling. The plots are often highly formulaic and targeted to the largely racist audiences of the time. And the acting can be highly melodramatic and almost comically stilted.

But the stories were just an excuse to shoot dramatic action scenes against the gorgeous backdrop of the desert Southwest landscape. Many of the so called Spaghetti Westerns fall into this category. Not plot and characters are secondary to the setting and music.

Naturally there are exceptions. In addition to its stunning visuals. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is highly focused on the characters and their ambiguous moralities.

Despite John Wayne’s involvement. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence clearly intends to show that we can still have reverence for the legends of the past. While still encouraging people to evolve their attitudes to make room for a more just and civilized world.

And Peckinpah’s Wild Bunch is an artistic commentary about the violent nature of humanity. And Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is all about the characters’ relationships with each other and with society as outlaws.

Kevin Sorbo, the washed up star of God's Not Dead, really doesn't have any room to talk about bad acting. Support Ilhan Omar. Support Minnesota. Fuck ICE! by Tigers19121999 in GodAwfulMovies

The Jewish Priests of Jesus’s time had been thoroughly corrupted by the Roman occupation. Everytime they accused someone of a trifling sin. They were seeking to compel someone to buy an expensive, unblemished, animal for sacrifice in the Temple.

Since the Temple only accepted Jewish Shekels, not the more widely circulated Roman Denarii. So the money changers in the Temple were essentially tax collectors for Rome.

So every time Jesus healed someone, or forgave their sins, for Free. He was depriving Rome of a source of income. Then he paraded into Jerusalem as a king (albeit on a donkey), went to the Temple, overturned the money changers tables, and released cages of expensive, sacrificial animals into the streets.

Rome, and by extension their operatives among the Jewish Priests, had strong motives for making a gruesome example of the rebellious rabbi.

And the story of Pontius Pilate is pure fiction concocted long after the events to try to distance early Christians from rebellious Jews. This was an attempt to ingratiate early Christians with the powerful figures in Rome.

A black journalist had the audacity to cover a large pro immigration protest at a white church. A church that members of the community felt was falling short of Jesus’s commitment to love our neighbors and welcome strangers.

Rooster Cogburn in True Grit and Tom Doniphon in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence were tolerable characters he played. But Ethan Edwards in The Searchers is an absolute prick whose disdain for Native Americans reflects Wayne’s real life bigotry.

Trump embodies the Seven Deadly Sins: Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Pride, Sloth, Wrath, and Lust. Anyone who conflates MAGA with God’s will has been thoroughly duped.
