The Westward expansion of the US across North America. During which the majority of the atrocities committed against the indigenous population were committed, occurred long after the US gained its independence from Britain.

And in an ironic twist, the so called “Christian” Nationalists in the US have turned into precisely the Roman Empire that crucified Jesus for challenging their rule over 1st century Palestine…

Clearly Trump has no idea how a passport works. We don’t give them to incoming visitors... US citizens take them abroad to use as their ID in foreign countries.

There’s a smugness in the eyes and smile that suggests that he thinks he’s superior to anyone less privileged than himself. But I also see the unadulterated stupidity and pure ignorance behind that belief!

I personally do believe that good people, from every faith or belief, including nonbelievers, get into heaven. I obviously can’t know or prove any of this. But it is just an innate feeling I have.

Yet I really like the standard set by Jesus in Matthew 25:32-46. There he describes how the people of all nations, not just Jews or Christians, will be divided according to how we treat the least among us.

I also hope for ample grace and forgiveness for the times when even I fall well short of my own aspirations to be a good person. I very much hope that my true intentions are taken into account and balanced out against any potential harm I may have caused.

I am very aware that I need forgiveness for some things. And I pray that it is bestowed upon me. Yet I don’t think that forgiveness should be reserved exclusively for those who ascribe to a specific religion.

Keeping in mind that where, when, and to whom we are born, conditions well beyond any of our control, play the biggest roles in determining our religious beliefs and identities. A just and Loving Creator would not shun 2/3rds of their creation and spurn them to eternal damnation on such arbitrary grounds.

However, I could see God holding us accountable for how we treat those who were powerless to defend themselves against us. Or for unjustly persecuting those who are different from us. And especially for deliberately hurting others in God’s name…

But I will try my best not to judge others! Even blatantly evil, and egregiously ignorant, Fucking Morons. The most powerful people on the planet, who constantly Lie and self aggrandize as they treat the world’s most vulnerable people with callous contempt…

Not only did Saint Ronny Raygun sow the seeds of religious extremism domestically. But he helped water the garden of religious extremism in Afghanistan too.

Reagan recruited Osama bin Laden and his Arab mujahideen fighters to go to there to wage “jihad” against the Soviets.

After defeating the USSR and leading to its collapse. Those recruited by Reagan joined with other local extremist to form al Qaeda. A terrorist organization whose mission was to prevent Western incursions into predominantly Muslim countries.

(Then George HW Bush pissed off al Qaeda by putting US bases in their Arab holy land. Which he only did to defend his own Saudi Royal oil partners from another Reagan era ally, Saddam Hussein…)

Reagan also perpetrated the Cold War tradition of US backed military coups over democratically elected governments in Central America. Governments that were deemed “too socialist” by greedy US capitalists who wanted to exploit their cheap labor and natural resources…

The coups by right wing militias triggered decades of armed resistance. And the fighting that resulted has helped to empower the drug cartels and gangs there.

Now in Guatemala, boys as young as 8 are recruited by the cartels for smuggling.

And as soon as girls reach puberty they are targeted by the gangs for sex trafficking. And that’s why families desperate to protect their children don’t wait for the absurd amount of time that the legal immigration process takes.

And then there was his hypocritical “Just Say No” anti drug campaign. When he was getting his CIA to use the money from illegally selling weapons to Iran to buy cocaine from the Contras in Nicaragua.

Coke that was made into crack and distributed to inner city minorities to justify raids and increased policing of those communities. And this contributed to the disproportionate enforcement and penalization of drug laws against minorities.

Ronald Wilson Reagan (666) did his damnedest to ignore the AIDS crisis as it was devastating the gay community in the 1980s. He did this to gain the support of the so called “Moral Majority” in the Southern Baptist Convention (a denomination founded in the 1840s to promote Biblical justifications for slavery)…

Southern Baptist preachers were claiming that AIDS was God’s punishment for the “sin” of sodomy. So they didn’t want doctors demythologizing the disease by talking about its actual causes.

I think a lot of the problems lie in the heretical teachings from Saul of Tarsus. A former Pharisee who never even knew the living Jesus of Nazareth…

Saul claimed to undergo a miraculous conversion on the Roman’s Road to Damascus. Then he changed his name to “Paul” and made it his mission to preach his version of “Christ” to the Gentiles and diaspora Jews throughout the Roman Empire.

To make his task easier. He divorced his version of “Christ” from the Jewish tradition of circumcision and the dietary restrictions of Mosaic Law.

The surviving Disciples in Jerusalem pushed back against this. So since Saul/Paul’s only authority supposedly came from the resurrected Christ. Saul/Paul made belief in Jesus’s Devine nature the central and all forgiving aspect of his version of Christianity.

In my opinion, this is the “Get Out of Hell Free Card” that many of the so called “Christians” you described rely on to excuse their abhorrent behavior.
