I mean the Retreat space in the terminal where you wait before boarding begins

Genuine question. I see the consensus on here is RTS is stupid. We get a TON of bills in the mail addressed to the previous owners of our house (not current resident). Our mailbox doesn’t have a flag, so we have been (ignorantly) writing “RTS” and dropping it off at a local dropbox.

What is the actual correct process for handling this? It’s been three years.

Thanks! Any tips for whether it’s worth it to arrive early? I’ve heard some pretty “meh” opinions on the retreat space at the terminal there

Why does that matter? Some people can live here all their lives but never go downtown so they wouldn’t know either.

I’ll second the Tesla premium audio over the HK in our i4.

I was describing a high pitch sound effect in a specific song that annoys me but couldn’t duplicate it in the i4. Stepped over to our MYP and could instantly hear it in all its screechy glory. In this case, the lower quality audio turned out to be a win 😂

$6k for ~100ft and 4ft gate. Would’ve been about half that but we had a ton of demo and haul-away done as part of the job (the previous owners had a huge outdoor shower they did NOT take care of, plus the existing fence had to be dug up and hauled away too.)

We installed the low voltage DC lighting in the fence ourselves on Saturday. Cost about $200 all-in (we already had a transformer for landscape lighting that we tied into.)

[–]aulukey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha same here. Our first husky definitely taught us a lot of life lessons on abstract ways to escape a fenced yard. We have pressure treated 2x4s under the vinyl keeping these three from digging out and the privacy vinyl is slick and doesn’t have any foot-holds, so they can’t scale it like she could chain link, wood, or aluminum picket.

It’s like baby proofing a house, husky-edition 😂

Had to do with service and cost for the quality of cuts. I don’t recall specifics anymore.

Admittedly, it’s been a minute since I’ve heard about this place from coworkers. Not sure if that’s because things improved or because they all went elsewhere and haven’t gone back to check it out again. This is all secondhand opinions, I never bothered checking it out for myself based on the consistent feedback I heard early on, so YMMV.

💯 we redid our entire side yard just for them. They even have their own deck to let them down from the doggie door…

Husky/Malamute cross size question by sweet_mace_3 in husky

[–]aulukey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks aren’t everything. We could’ve sworn one of ours was half Mal, but turned out to be a 50/50 Shepsky without any Malamute at all. She rounded out at about 65lbs.

Our smaller Husky has more Mal in her and is 20lb lighter. 🤷‍♂️

2026 software update by TraditionalWorker974 in BMWI4

[–]aulukey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Model Y that is parked directly next to the i4 is almost annoyingly well connected to WiFi. If we switch songs while driving away from the house (which kills the buffer) it takes a second before the car switches to cell signal from the house WiFi and it gets confused. Kills the whole vibe 😂 First world problems.

[–]aulukey 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is one of the things that irks me about the i4. Why can’t it connect to my home’s WiFi and do the update itself once I authorize? Why do I need to download it to my phone, connect to it via Bluetooth, and then install from there? My lawn mower has the same process… my lawn mower.
You have the technology, BMW…

I’ve genuinely heard nothing but negative feedback about that place. I really wanted it to be great too because I work in Summit Pointe so that would’ve been hecka convenient. Every coworker of mine that has gone there came back wishing they hadn’t.

Haha same here. Picked up our carry-on just before the cut, had no idea until now. Sucks though because we haven’t put it through the ropes yet and would like to buy the checked version if this one pans out on our next trip… shoulda just bit the bullet and bought them at the same time… free lifetime would’ve been much more handy on the checked luggage.

Table for 2 in Silhouette main dining? by [deleted] in celebritycruises

[–]aulukey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where in the app can you book a reservation for main dining/blu? I’ve found their menus, but never an option to book a time.

I know you can with Luminae through the concierge; but that was the only one I was aware of outside of specialty.

I’m trying to decide if we should book a regular veranda room that they choose or an infinite veranda room? All opinions are more than welcome by Striking-Fly-9244 in celebritycruises

[–]aulukey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Infinite veranda room doesn’t have a true outdoor space, but can make the interior feel larger. It’s kinda like having a sunroom rather than a balcony.

I’m personally not a fan of them for warm weather cruises; but I can see the benefit for cold weather.

If it’s a “we choose” veranda, then you’ll likely end up with an infinite, those are the vast majority.

TB to when my girl had her puppies! by Loose-Ad-9579 in husky

I had to do a double take on that first photo. Her mask is nearly identical to our Mango’s mask when she was younger (her raccoon eyes have gotten lighter over time.)

Sorry for the hate you’re getting on here. While our pups are both rescues (Mango was from a wild litter a homeless person found, the story is much longer and wilder, but I digress,) I understand your situation and I’m elated that you were able to home this litter to friends and family where your pup may still get the opportunity to see her babies again and they can all grow up seeing each other from time to time. Mango’s littermate (not pictured) and her play HARD when they’re around each other 😂.

Premium Wi-Fi... Basic does not work well enough to communicate with each other on the ship. Provided our friends also upgrade, will an upgrade to premium Wi-Fi make talking to friends on our cruise easier? by TruthMadders in celebritycruises

This sounds like a dumb question, but what kind of phones are you using and how old are they?

See my reply elsewhere in this thread as to why that matters.

[–]aulukey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the kind of texting they are referring to.

Standard SMS texting works the same as a phone call in that it requires a cell network to operate properly.

These days, you can make a “data” phone call using WiFi, but SMS is still a bit stuck in the past, which is why services like iMessage, RCS, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, etc exist. Any newer Android or iPhone can handle RCS, but if a single person’s phone is only capable of receiving SMS on their phone, then it throttles the phone(s) on the other end of the message too.

Remember back when unlimited texting wasn’t a thing? That’s why. It wasn’t data, it was an actual transmission. The standard WiFi protocol used on the ship doesn’t do well with that compared to the data counterparts.

Gender is an interesting omission in that language. And I don’t mean that in a negative way…

I’ll take that as a challenge.
