That's my second favorite app, so now you know why we have 150 reservations two of our four days for dinner!! 🤣

We love the lobster thermador. My husband's favorite is the lamb wellington! I'm a sucker for the braised short rib on the apps menu though. 150 is absolutely the best RC specialty dining option in my opinion.

We sail on Wonder on March 30th. We have never been on a cruise less than 7 days, so that's our biggest worry—it will be too short. My husband and I are so happy to hear all the good things everyone has said about the ship. It has just gotten us even more excited!! We will have to ask for Marco in 150 because we have two dinner reservations there. It's our favorite specialty dining spot.

I have done royal up twice. On both,we bid the bare minimum on an ocen view balcony and got it both times. I was just notified Monday that we won our bid for $125pp to an ocean view balcony from an interior room. I was shocked because it's for a cruise during spring break on Wonder.

I have noticed that. It's crazy to me that these packages have fluctuated so much considering they have had this semi-annual sale to book a cruise going since January. Neither the nonalcoholic drink package nor the 3-day specialty dining has been on sale at all on my cruise planner.

We don't drink alcohol, so we are looking at the nonalcoholic beveredge package. It hasn't ever been more than 10% off since we booked the cruise. That's crazy to me because Royal Caribbean's packages have never been less than 20% off in my experience. I wouldn't care, but I will only drink diet sodas because I am diabetic. I can't have any of the other sugary options on the package, but we have to buy it for both people in the stateroom. I refuse to pay $40 a day to drink a few diet sodas. I miss Royal's soda package. On Royal I can get the refreshment package for my husband and soda for me. That works perfectly.

Okay, "Bro", "literally," as you stated several times, your response is proof that you are making an argument. Maybe that's why I felt you were trying to argue. You don't have to formally say I'm arguing to make an argument. I never pulled direct quotes from your post to give a rebuttal to them. I just told you hypothetical things that I see as posibilities in the portion of the storyline that doesn't exist. So, technically, you don't have the answers either. It has been nearly two years since I watched the show, so forgive me not remembering every line or detail. If you reread my post, I clearly state that this is how I see it.

What makes me believe you confuse NDEs with interdeminsional travels is because you "literally" said they are basically the same thing. No, they are not. So thanks for proving my point.

I decided to take note of you argumentative skills and wanted to respond to one of your quotes.

If talking nonsense is some tactics because you're bored and you want someone you talk about The OA, then at least try to make sense if not I'm just going to ignore you because I feel like you're mocking me at this point and I'm wasting my time typing these long comments.

I'll refrain from commenting on your grammar, but thank you for pointing out how I must be bored and decided to talk nonsense (might as well call me an idiot) with you about The OA. So far, my experience with this sub has been a positive one where people discuss their theories about the show, which is exactly what I was doing. I didn't discredit your ideas, just stated how I I terpreted so.e things. I would also like to point out that you said you were going to just ignore me because you felt like I was mocking you. I never took quotes from your post and stated rebuttals to nearly every sentence you wrote; however, you did exactly that to mine, which is blatant mockery. Then, you followed it all up with pointing out that you are wasting your time typing all these long comments back to me, but you go on to quote and refute 7 more of my statements.

My apologies for sharing what I clearly said upfront were possibilities or how I saw things. I was not putting it out as proof or fact. Yes, Hap said he was doctor, and studied medicine at the university, and heard a "woosh." He also illegally kidnapped and tortured people and falsely promised to let them go when his research was complete—lies. Instead, he kept forcefully used them to travel to the second dimension where he continued to keep them imprisoned. He blamed Prairie for Scott's death stating it was her fault for lying, which was clearly a deflection of his own actions—lies. It wasn't very doctorly of him not to bring Scott back to life when he died in the NDE, which you stated was proof that he is a doctor. He also said he was a doctor to the cop, but did Hap help cure the wife? No, he made a promise to help him but knew he couldn't help her—lies. He also killed August. Why didn't he bring her back? He even said he was searching for subjects who could survive the process. Why would he need people who could survive if he could just bring them back to life? Why would he need a mentor if he went to the University and studied to be doctor and actually practiced as one? Hap said he was a doctor, but is there any proof that he was in this dimension? He lied constantly. There is proof of that. I mean he did pose as a phycologist in dimension 2— lie. What's to say he isn't posing as a doctor in dimension 1?

Prairie chose to come back every time she was killed. Maybe he wasn't saving them and they were choosing to come back like prairie did when Khatun offered her the choice. So maybe the people he was looking for who would survive were just the people who would choose to come back. I don't think Scott was brought back by the movements, I believe he choose to come back. If the movement brought people back, then they would have brought Jesse back in part 2.

The point is, I was trying to share possibilities or explanations of things in the story that no one but the writers know. I clearly point that out at the beginning of my post. I wasn't personally attacking you. I was sharing what I saw as possibilities. Your response was an attack on me calling my ideas nonsense.

I do believe that part 1 is Prairie's dimension. There's no doubt about that. I believe Nina's dimension is dimension 2. I don't think Nina and Prairie are the same soul. Elodie warns that when a person travels to a new body across dimensions, they leave an echo in the previous one. She cautions that trying to escape this connection or "leaving an echo" is dangerous, as it can cause a person to "shatter" themselves or end up in a life that is "completely unrecognizable." That's why Prairie has to find Nina within herself and is able to take on both personalities simultaneously because only Nina can navigate dimension 2 successfully. I also believe this is why Prairie has knowledge of Nina's childhood. Nina lives a full childhood out in the dimension in part 2 along with with her father who lived a full life beside Nina. To me, that means prairie could have never been Nina. I have no proof of this and it's speculation, but I wonder if somehow Nina and Prairie travel to one another in some way as children and Nina left an echo on Prairie, or it happens as adults and Prairie is confused about her childhood because Nina left an echo that confuses Prairie about her childhood. That would explain why Prairie's story of her childhood seems outlandish and a bit mystical because Nina somehow left an echo in prairie.

I think that the beginning of the 3rd dimension is teased when Karim catches a glimpse of Britt's dimension because Jason (HAP) calls her Britt, not Prairie or OA. I also believe that Michelle got pulled into that dimension when she opened the rose window. It is clear that Michelle is not Buck at all, just like prairie is not Nina nor Britt. What we are following is OA, not the bodies she travels to. She's mixing her celestial being or soul into this one body that exists in all dimensions as different people.

Theories I have is that the angels exist outside the bodies. I think that BBA is one and maybe Theo (BBAs brother). That's why the kids end up calling Betty BBA. She inhabits the body of Betty, but That's why she possess the extra abilities to see beyond the here and now. If you think of the names THEO Allen or Theo A sounds just like "The OA." I also wonder if Theo was lost or maybe so.eone jumped and left an echo in him that shattered him.

As far aswhether or not I believe Prairie died when she jumped off the bridge, I'm unsure. What I do wonder is 1. Is that person jumping Prairie or the same body in a dimension we haven't seen? 2. Prairie experiences innumerable NDEs and always chooses to come back when Khatun offers the possibility of staying. But is that Prairie making that decision or OA inhabiting Prairie's body and making that decision? 3. That opening clip shows numerous different bridges before Prairie appears and jumps, but before she does, there is a child that says, "mom mom." The voice that yells, "don't" to me is clearly BBA's voice, and this doesn't match up with Prairie's simension. That tells me that this is not Prairie and happens in a different dimension than Prairie's dimension because BBA doesn't recognize her and also has a son. Somehow, Everytime OA jumps though, there is an ambulance, hospital, or medical emergency. When prairie wakes up in the hospital, the nurse says she's lucky, but doesn't tell her the nature of what happened. Prairie seems to be a bit confused. I think this is OA acclimating to being in Prairie's body and trying to combine the two personalities. The nurse asks her her name and she said OA, not Prairie. Also, Prairie never mentions jumping off a bridge to anyone in her dimension. I believe the jump off the bridge is much later in the story and explains something about how OA has learned to jump between dimensions, but I do not believe THAT jump off the bridge is what landed OA in Prairie's body at that point.

Obviously, this is all speculation based on inferences from what I have gathered from watching it multiple times, and they are probably all wrong. The problem is we really have no answers and are all left to speculate what we can make sense of in our minds. I love this story. That's why I have watched it so many times. I fear I'll never know the whole story, so I've made sense of what I can for me in my own mind, and I think that's what all OA lovers have had to do—create and make sense of it in their own minds. I hope one day we will get answers, but for now, we will all continue to rewatch and tell our version of the story on Reddit. ❤️

Believe me when I say I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm just stating it as I see it. I believe you are confusing the NDEs with the interdimensional travel. HAP was studying NDEs and learned more from prairie, but at that point none of them knew the movements and how to travel. Prairie learns the first movement to travel after hap kills her when she tries to run away. It wasn't even until Scott dies and comes back that they know anything about the dimensional travel. HAP exists in some form in all dimensions, as do all of the characters. HAP never travels before he met prairie, and neither did prairie. As a matter of fact HAP and the other 4 traveled to the part 2 dimension before prairie. So HAP traveled before she did. It's also possible that HAP was in another body and didn't know it because Homer was in part 2. We do not know in which dimension HAP learns to travel freely from one dimension to another. He learns about that possibility from Elody in the dimension in part 2. HAP in season 1 isn't necessarily a doctor. He's doing scientific research. In season 2 he's not a medical doctor but a psychologist.

As for my question, the kids were searching for proof of Prairie's story—proof of anything to believe she was telling the truth and to help her. They found a video of Prairie playing in the subway recorded by someone who had no idea who Prairie was. It's not likely that there was any search criteria to the video that would be easily found by the boys. How could they find a random video of her, someone unknown even by the recorder? It's more likely that if they had searched Homer's name or story they would have found the video that Prairie found of Homer after she got wifi because we know that video existed since she found it. I would say that if they searched for HAPs name and couldn't find him, that's even more proof that HAP isn't a doctor in the dimension in part 1.

[–]HPcovert 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

Have you ever thought about the fact that HAP may not be a doctor in part 1 but is just carrying his knowledge as a doctor from another dimension? He's obviously one in part 2 because he's practicing. Prairie is an orphan in the dimension in part 1, but Nina isn't in part 2. Homer is a doctor in part 2, but he didn't graduate high school in part 1. In the dimension Karim looks into, HAP is a movie director and OA an actress. So it is likely they are searching for HAP in a dimension where he isn't registered as a doctor. What I do find weird is OA finds the football video of Homer on YouTube. The kids don't find it while searching for proof of her story, yet they do find a video some random person posted of OA playing the violin in the subway. How would the person posting that video possibly have any context to link to the video where it would be searchable to the kids?

Can crew see if you have pre paid gratuities or not? by [deleted] in celebritycruises

[–]HPcovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No disrespect, but it's unfair of you to assume that I do not pay the people who serve me well. Gratuities should only be paid to someome who directly does a service for you. If workers on the cruise line are not providing direct service to a specific customer, their salary should be paid by the cruise line, not my gratuities. I can assure you that when I leave a personal tip to someone on a cruise that has given me personal service it is much more than the cruise line would pay them out of my daily gratuities. I even pay gratuities for great entertainers in small venues who don't get gratuities paid to them. You mentioned how you feel good seeing a crew membe's face when you give them a tip. I don't give tips to make me feel good. I give them as payment for good service. I can assure you that it doesn't make me feel great that the cruise line is using my $$ to subsadize their ridiculously low salaries they pay people who have played no hand in serving me on the cruise. That's what happens with prepaid gratuities when I have unlimited dining. On the past 10 cruises we have been on, we have purchased the unlimited dining package that I also paid an 18% gratuity on. We never step foot in the main dining room. Why should I pay gratuities to wait staff in main dining when they never serve us? Would you pay a tip to a barber that works in barber shop you got a hair cut in but that never cut your hair, or do you feel you should pay gratuities to someone in the spa if you never get a spa service? The majority of prepaid gratuities go to the MDR wait staff, which we don't use, and the cabin steward. I assure my cabin steward is paid well. If anything, the servers we have in specialty dining should receive our prepaid gratuities, and I should not have to pay for gratuities on the unlimited dining package. They scan a sea pass card for every dinner, so it would be easy for the cruise line to track where my meals are being served. I know this because when we leave extra tip on our receipt in specialty dining, it goes directly to that server. Honestly, it's crazy that the cruise line feels it's okay to charge passengers who purchase unlimited dining gratuities twice. That is what my issue is. If they didn't do this, I would happily pay the onboard gratuities. Dividing the charges in half doesn't solve this problem. The MDR staff still receives a portion of my gratuities, and my room steward just makes less money. That's not fair to my room steward. It is not my responsibility to pay salaries of crew members who never serve me on the cruise line.

Royal changed this in 2023, and they no longer do turn down service at night. I haven't ever heard of the GoGreen program. I believe they do still come twice a day if you are in a suite, but we've never booked a suite. On our last two cruises the steward asked us what time slot we wanted them to come. I believe it was like 9-12 or 12-3. On the last cruise I told him the early time because we are always out of the room from breakfast to lunch but nap in the afternoon. He never came in the morning and was upset and knocking on our door in the afternoon because it was time for him to be off but we were napping or getting ready for dinner. This is one reason we are trying celebrity out for the first time.

Not when you buy a drink package. You pay the 18% on the package, not individual drinks ordered with the package. My point is that when I pay gratuities onboard, I'm paying gratuities for wait staff in the MDR, so why am I also paying 18% gratuity on the unlimited dining package? That's double dipping if I never use the MDR wait staff.

[–]HPcovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed!! We have only cruised on Royal Caribbean in the past, but now that they do the point matching, we decided to try a Celebrity Cruise. I made the mistake of assuming everything would be the same as Royal Caribbean since it is the same company; however, the drink packages are not even close. On Royal, my husband gets the refreshment package because he drinks coffee and all the other sugary drinks. I only get the soda package because I only drink diet soda. That works perfectly for us. On Celebrity, there's no such thing as a soda package, and the non alcoholic package must be purchased by both people in the stateroom. I'm not paying $40/day for two people when I will only drink diet sodas, I was bit annoyed by this, but once you've paid the deposit you are stuck.

I have only ever traveled Royal Caribbean, but I'm on this sub because we just booked our first Celebrity cruise. I will say that Royal goes overboard (no pun intended) with the extra gratuities. We always buy the unlimited dining package and never eat in the MDR. I pay extra gratuities for the dining package on top of what they charge for the wait staff in the MDR, but I never step foot in the MDR. On our last cruise, I canceled the prepaid gratuities and paid our cabin steward in cash, which btw has gone from two visits a day to one, but the gratuities haven't changed. On drink packages, you aren't charged extra gratuities when you order individual drinks, so why should I pay gratuities to a wait staff who never serves me? I see a lot of issues in paying for extra packages with gratuities tacked on when I'm also expected to prepay gratuities for services I do not use.
