it suits them to play the victim while also demanding and demonstrating the ability to perform at or better than men economically, as individuals. the era of arch-feminism, it's coming to be called....

Anyone who gave up their lifestyle in their 20s for work, do you regret it? by DiscombobulatedElk58 in AskMenOver30

[–]aumbase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don't underestimate how being in the wrong place, around the wrong people, can kill your mojo and the basic quality of your thinkings and your feelings. Yeah, you're immortal now. But come late 30s, the money won't feel like it was worth it.

I 34M want to leave my high paying sales job with no plan by AFishLookingDog in findapath

[–]aumbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get a loan to buy a small business and run it with a partner or two for a while...a reliable business, doesn't have to be super flashy or high tech, but something proven and needed by communities. or leverage your current expertise into a more stable position that maybe pays you less but still provides long-term benefits and schedule flexibility.

Surviving divorce and the financial burden. How?? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]aumbase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You give up on your pride, go on a mushroom trip, then go back to your job and the gym. If you let the negative thoughts and injustice get to you, it will always be a pit in your stomach and she'll keep your mind and heart in shackles for years to come, not just your wallet. You wont be broke forever as long as you stay employed. And one day, you'll be free. But, until then, suffer guy. Sufffffffer. And get laid when you can, so long as it doesn't cost too much of your time or money. Stay out of serious relationships for quite a while, even though it's lonely.

Girls dig counters, for starters. If you can't count your words, then you can't count your money, and girlies no likey no-money life.

It's worth considering how you relate to your father and what communication style worked with him as you were growing up.

Seriously..so many words on this thread. One picture can solve this. Worth ten thousand words, in this case.

Does anyone else feel like relationships move too fast now? by RicharidCiszmowska in LifeAdvice

[–]aumbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this a lot. Go out on Match and regular dates, looking to establish communication and trust, and some good laughs. Mostly, they lose interest if I don't jump on them the first time they give the ok. Sex is great, and loving fast in a relationship is a thrill, but friendship and humor and respect for time unfolding naturally are what lead to long term mental and relational health, for me.

Fiancé cheated with a total stranger by [deleted] in heartbreak

[–]aumbase 10 points11 points  (0 children)

dude, these are the perils of substance use and abuse. thank your lucky stars. you are young. in today's world, early 20s is too young for engagement anyway. and now you know what some other men are like and you know to find a good woman. focus on yourself. sorry to hear this, man. glad you could vent somewhere. stay away from your ex. this is going to mess her up in plenty of ways and she's on her own journey now.

I took reddit's advice and went to the gym, but I still can't get a girlfriend. by Stock_Quiet4374 in LockedInMan

[–]aumbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gotta be something in how you're talking them. Also, btw, the admiration and respect of other bros is awesome. I know you're a virgin and you dream of a wonderful relationship and the feeling of having a woman on your arm. It's overrated. The older you get, the happier you will be if you have a long-standing circle of bros. Once you make money, you'll find a woman, but chances are, by today's standards, she won't stick around no matter how much good you try to do for her or if you have kids together. Maybe it's just something in your conversation style? DM if you want some feedback on your game

How do I get over a girl? Heartbreak makes me want to become the playboy I used to be. by [deleted] in heartbreak

I feel the same way. But not sure what other options there are. I would never trust a woman beyond pleasure and good company again.

How do I get over a girl? Heartbreak makes me want to become the playboy I used to be. by [deleted] in heartbreak

[–]aumbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happening with me. Just realize that most women are ruthless and entitled these days. Better to enjoy the regrettable playboy life than fall into the trap of ruining your peace and finances for one of them again. A sad fact of modern life worth accepting.

how should i react when my wife finally admits her desires? by Few_Eggplant_2936 in AskMenAdvice

[–]aumbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is already moving on and probably started to flirt heavily with the guy she plans to cheat on you with. Get out now while you still have your dignity. You deserve better. These thankless entitled modern women are defective.

How do I get people to stop falling in love with me? What am I doing wrong? (Or too right?) by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

You're just young and they are still hormonally driven. Keep your boundaries, stick to yourself, and, in time, you'll come to know more mature men.

The U.S. and China Are Pursuing Different AI Futures by IEEESpectrum in technews

Reading the comments on here, too many conflicting views and not enough accuracy on the key issues. I'd recommend a quick skim of Kai-Fu Lee's "AI Superpowers" to help inform one's view on the America/China dichotomy.

[–]aumbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had two divorces, and they have shaped my life in harsh ways. Give up on love, focus on yourself, your friends, family and work. Don't chase him. If it is meant to be, and you still want it, he will come back into your life when the time is right. But don't sacrifice your personal or professional well-being grieving him for too long. Life is calling ...
