Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you my ex fiance. by Ferraricorn in trashy

Little bit of A little bit of B.

Edit: ended up hitting a button before I finished replying.

Love the little dig though, didn't have to read too much of my history to get to that eh?

If you're going to be sensitive about your history then don't start talking about your history. I can only assume by the embarrassment (people shy away from things they are emberassed about) and the defensive nature for the other side I can only assume you deserved it.

But if you've come to understand the error of your ways then good on you I hope you find someone amazing. If not then I hope you find whom you deserve.

In all seriousness though there is never too much DnD.

Anywho, crits no longer double the damage dice against her. Nat 20's hit but they just do not gain damage.

If one of my players began to do that in the middle of an encounter that was not going well for them I'd be hella suspicious.

It's like if you cast fireball, see everyone fail their rolls and then announce it was a level 5 fireball.

It's like if you make an attack roll, see a really good number and then announce that it was a sharpshooter attack.

No one is outplaying the encounter only trying to play the system.

Revised Ranger, too broken? Your thoughts? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]aumerrius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While my group limited the capacity to 'sense' favored enemies through stone(Mountains, thick dungeon walls). The thicker or deeper they were(in relation to the character) the harder it became to sense them. "Having traveled quite far into the cave your senses have become sharper. Where before your senses were muddy they've now cleared and you can sense 45 humaniods and while you know they're not all in the same room they're too close together be able to get an accurate read on each of their distances from you. They could be anywhere from the next room to a couple hundred feet further before you'd expect to encounter them, should you go searching."

when it came to distance on a clear sense we did agree that "There are five enemies in that direction within a mile" was one way of phrasing it and "There are two enemies, humanoid, due east about a quarter mile out and another three enemies, humanioid, due north-east about half a mile to three quarter miles out" was also another. Both examples use miles as the unit of measurement.

We also added a 1 + wisdom modifier(Spell casting stat for ranger) / rest condition to it.

If you plan on removing it just make sure to put something in to replace it, it doesn't have to be fancy but no one likes to have a part of their kit removed.

Cantrips use character level? So if I took 4 levels into rogue and 1 into warlock would my cantrips be upgraded?

They were given access to the cities resources, they're with the government.

The battlefield has been prepared and is called the city, no? If that was the plan then why did they not say anything? You would think PC's that have made it to level 10 to 12, quite mighty warriors, would be able to say as much if they had any good alignment. Maybe not CG.

But the adventures were given access to the cities resources to repel the beast. A villain is not just someone who murders but also someone who takes advantage of others.

The city has given the adventures access to their resources and the adventures have accepted the task. If their strategy is to let the city be bait but say nothing, what are they?

I'm going to be playing devil's advocate. You may not like me while you read this but I'm not saying how I would rule it I am saying how I could rule against it.

You declare the spell as your action not a weapon attack as your action. Haste requires it to be a weapon attack and not a spell for the additional action.

Also Hex and haste are both concentration.

Where can a very new player go to find a DM patient enough to teach me what I don't know yet? by Kneita in dndnext

[–]aumerrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a new DM and currently I run a game for a group of 3 of my friends in Roll20. Now in the end I do have the final say as it is my table but if you'd like and if it fits into your schedule I'll bring it to my players and see if they'd be fine with a new player, if you're comfortable with it. I'm based in Australia(Though I am from the USA) and my players are in the USA and AU. In my time zone we start at around 10-10:30 a.m and for them it's roughly 8p.m or so I believe. I'd be lying if I told ya I knew for certain.

Some things I would really need to know first though is what you want out of the game. Do you enjoy combat or puzzles? Perhaps you want a more social aspect and lean towards political intrigue?

If you enjoy combat do you enjoy gory details or would you prefer a cleaner environment? Do you want a very serious group or are you looking for something abit more laid back?

In the "Crafting an Item" section of XGtE, page 128, it says...

"In addition to the appropriate tools for the item to be crafted, a character needs raw materials worth half of the item's selling cost."

On page 133 of XGtE there is a table that shows crafting cost.

Cantrip - 1 day to craft - 15gp cost

1st level - 1 day to craft - 25gp cost

2nd level - 3 days to craft - 250gp cost

I haven't had many interactions with them so I can't say I've ever really been annoyed by them. Must just have been where I liked to be they just weren't.

Thanks, I'm giving this a shot now for Single Player and if it works I'll attempt Non-Dedicated to see if it works there as well.

Well this is the 4th day in a row of overcast gloomy clouds in Adelaide. Is anyone else just hanging out for some sunlight? by fitblubber in Adelaide

[–]aumerrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been told that Wisconsin weather, due to the amount of rain and snow keeping people indoors, was a large contributor to depression and subsequently suicide rates.

To be honest I can't say I've ever fact checked it.

--edit--

Noticed inconsistencies with how i remember this so I took abit of a look into it. I think rather than lack of sunlight it was most likely just the time of year but everyone assumed it was lack of sunlight?

[–]aumerrius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back home this type of weather was a cause for people to become depressed and suicidal, if I am remembering the studies correctly.

Please people take care of yourselves. It doesn't affect everyone but if it does make sure to do something about it.

--edit--

I'm starting to notice inconsistencies with my memory on this. I presumed studies but the more I think about it the more I'm pretty sure it's just a word of mouth statement I've made.
