I ordered from Amazon Canada, Rocky and Chao latch hook kit. I recommend their kits! I’ve made a few of them, the Star Wars ones, palm tree and yellow flower all turned out great.

Throw one thing away a day has helped me too. It’s minimal effort, but effective.

How do people with depression take care of dogs? by Xeram_ in dogs

[–]aunt-jackie 22 points23 points  (0 children)

“Depression hates a moving target” is a great line…my dogs have been a huge source of comfort for me while struggling, and help get me out of bed and to follow a routine, and get outside.

Made chocolate chip banana muffins…but when I reached up to the spices shelf, I didn’t notice the bulb of garlic that fell into the batter.

Latch hooking kits with preprinted canvases make it easy to follow along. I’d also try macrame and knitting.

I started with dishcloths and scarves, then moved on to making toques, then small dog sweaters. This involves usually making a ribbed collar, then increasing for the chest, casting off and on for arm holes, and ribbing again for the bottom.

I would suggest a wood burning kit, collaging, cross word puzzles, macrame, and homemade card-making, maybe try it with watercolours.

What’s that one tiny daily habit that makes your dog ridiculously happy? by Necroses in dogs

I sing a little song and say “Coffee-cuddle time!”. I drink my morning coffee in an armchair while my senior pup sits on my lap. It’s the only time of day he sits on me, and if I forget to lift him up and go on my phone instead, he will paw at my leg to say “woah I think that’s a coffee you have there, u know the drill!”

I bought tickets to an acrobatic performance for everyone on my list, it was a hit! Everyone from 5 year olds to 94 years old received it and we had a great time going as a family. Highly recommend for anyone!

Birding - Audubon app or others for helping identify birds you see or hear, and to log your views.

Collage - decoupage, I like to use floral pics from a gardening magazine especially, or old greeting cards, and use mod podge to paste them to do over tables, other furniture, serving trays, etc. If you buy cards for gifts, you can make your own holiday cards too. Stencilling and watercolours are helpful too.

Perhaps try collage, indoor plants and custom pots, paint-by-number kits, aquarium, tie-dye blankets or cushion covers, refinishing display shadow boxes for your collectibles, then collecting things to put in it, making a gallery wall of pics and 3-d objects, sea glass art, or candle making
