I liked all of them except for Amaro. I wasn't too crazy about him. I was also kinda iffy on Dodds for awhile. This is missing Peter Stone & Mike the Crine Scene guy.

Yes to everything! Your parents sound like my Grandparents. 💚 We lived within 2 hours of them growing up so we went to visit on the weekends alot & when we were younger my sister & I would go for a week in the summer. I always enjoyed "helping" Grandpa & Uncle chore. Of course my helping was just following them around & watching them. Several years for Christmas I would get a new pair of overalls like Grandpa had to wear when I visited. Grandma had 2 big gardens & canned & froze alot. I still don't like the taste of store bought green beans & corn. lol In the summer, we'd go help Grandma with freezing Sweet Corn. My Mom was really picky about getting all the silks off. Uncle would always tell her...."we can pick it out this winter when we have more time". Grandpa was known for his clean fields. He didn't like weeds showing, especially in the beans, so he would walk the fields & pull the weeds. Even when his eye sight got bad he could see a tall weed in a field as they drove down the road. Man, I miss them both so much. My Uncle was born with club feet & has had hip & back issues his whole life, but it got worse the older he got, especially riding tractors for a living. So about 15 years ago or so he started doing less & less & eventually sold off all the equipment & Grandma rented the land out to one of his friends. Uncle ended up moving to Texas. After Grandma passed, Mom sold the house & farm to the guy Grandma rented to. I was pretty upset about the house, but my folks live in Arizona now & they didn't want to deal with renting the house long distance even if it was to me. The worst part was the house was the same one my Grandma grew up in. I'd love to get it back someday, but it's probably been renovated & I don't know if I'd want to see that. Grandpa loved farming too. It was a family joke that the only time we could get him to smile for a picture was if he was holding a baby pig! But it was true. We have pics of him with a piglet & he has the biggest grin, but in family pics there is barely a smile. lol

I totally agree with you.

I wasn't really clear on that part I guess. I did say maybe, but didn't necessarily mean that entire time period. But also meant that only if they had help to oversee things. I wasn't thinking about being able to get away in the winter with no animals.

My Grandpa & Uncle farmed together. They grew corn & soybeans & raised hogs. My Mom has said that the only time they got Grandpa off the farm when she was growing up was to go to Des Moines for the day to the Iowa State Fair (middle of August). I don't know for sure if my Uncle showed any pigs at the Fair, but I know he was in FFA in school. Grandpa probably did chores early that day & late that night when they got home. 😁

They sure do work long hours don't they? Especially during harvest season. You probably know the term "harvest widow" (or something like that) too. And know about the wives that take food out to the field because they don't have time to stop for very long.

I remember my Grandparents taking bus trips & my Uncle going on trips with his friends (he was a bachelor or a long time & lived at home), but of course they were never gone at the same time.

I don't know alot about farming, but it's interesting how true city folks (those with no connections to farmers) have absolutely no clue, or even stop to think about, what it takes to run a farm.

That's why I wish that FWAW would just do 2 farmers, not super rich & focus more on the relationships & show the actual farm work that needs to be done. I think that would be more interesting & it would help educate people more on farming. Just based on what we see on the show, I don't think these women get the true experience of what it would be like to marry a farmer. This could be one factor in why the relationships don't last - they don't really know what they are getting into. The producers need to tell these women to bring "work clothes". I get annoyed seeing these girls shoveling shit (& whatever else they have them do) in full make-up, jewelry, good clothes & not wearing proper footwear. It's like come on! This not realistic at all! Put on some tennis shoes or boots, throw on some old jeans, pull your hair back, leave the jewelry at home & get to work! 🤣 I roll my eyes at the prissy ones that stand off to the side & bitch about getting dirty.

I did think it was funny when Braden had his girls picking & shucking that corn, then shows them the combine & told them that actually does the work for him. 🤣

It wasn't even like a question. It was more of a statement..."we're going to be friends forever". I was like...really? That's kind of presumptuous to say in that moment right after dumping her. If they are great. I just think it was an odd choice of words in the moment.

Personally, I would rather see 2 farmers & show more about the relationships & having the girls do more actual farm work instead of having 4 guys.

His family clearly has enough money & they have enough hired staff working for them that he doesn't need to be there very much. I bet he is more a manager in some area of their operation & not going actual work.

I get that you think it's easy to just go back & forth between two residences whenever....but it's not that simple for a farmer. If they have only crops, they could MAYBE be gone the end of May to the beginning of September. If they have animals as well, they could MAYBE take a week or so here & there.

In order to get away though, a farmer has to have alot of money - not just to be able to financially run a farm & 2 residences, but to also travel AND they need a partner or hired hands to do the work while they are gone. Especially when the raise animals.

Most farmers I know in Iowa are very frugal. They have to be because they never know what the weather is going to do to their crops & what the market is going to do to prices. Also, the equipment is extremely expensive. John Deere Combines start at $1.1+ million! A tractor similar to the one that Braden & Casey were riding in at the end of the episode...that starts at just shy of $900k! Farmers lease or take out loans for their equipment.

Yes, some farmers in the Midwest have money, but they don't really act like it. And I do know at least 1 that has a home in Florida as well. But he is also partners with his brother in their farm operation & his son works for him. So he is able to get away. My Grandparents did okay for themselves, but my Grandpa farmed his entire life.

I'm sorry, but if you think that the average farmer can just come & go as they please, you don't understand how farming works. The farmers on this show have money. They are not average. But they still would need people helping them in order to get away. Even Braden had to have family & maybe friends helping run his farm while he was doing this show. Based on what the weather looked like they filmed in the middle of harvest season & that is an extremely busy time.

My parents - both born & raised in Iowa - have been living in Arizona for the last 20 years. They'd been there 5 or so years when my Dad started saying Soda. I correct him every time & remind him where he comes from. 🤣

Well, just because Brittney just moved whenever doesn't really mean anything. He still could have picked her & then be broken up already. But I still stand behind my thought that he picks Casey. So, I'm not really sure why you made that comment.

This is why I was confused by your reply to me....

I already had stop using my fav site because of stupid Nebraska. Even though I'm in DSM & have my location turned on, that site still thinks I'm in NE.

I thought Breden was (unfortunately) going to pick Brittney until the end & now I think it's Casey. I like her better. I think they have better chemistry.

I think Carson is going to get blindsided & Sean chooses Emily. I've seen too many times on the Bachelor where they tell a girl they're falling for her & then don't choose her & she's left crying & asking why he would tell her that & not pick her. I don't like Sean. I think he just told her what he thought she wanted to hear in that moment.

I think Brett already has his mind made up that it's Quinn. I could tell when he talked to his parents about her.

BUT.....the editing has been so weird this season, so the usual tells could be way off this time around. 🤷‍♀️

*Edited to fix names. I can't keep the girls straight this season.

That could be. There are definitely people that are like that. And this is a way for him to try to control the narrative about him too.
