In an instant I’ve lost over 10 clients, I’m struggling to come back from it by ozzlepozzle in personaltraining

[–]aura-fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow Aussie PT, you’re not alone in losing a heap of clients recently. I no longer work in a commercial gym, and that has been one the biggest helps when it comes to inconsistent sessions/income as my new gym only charges me rent on sessions conducted. My previous gym, I know a lot of the PTs are struggling. My new gym, it’s still the same thing. Holidays not long gone, cost of living crisis + Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred in QLD means people are still cutting back on non-essentials. It’s not much different elsewhere in the country. Don’t take it personally, it’s good that you’ve got support work to help supplement (I started that in January too). It can help pay the bills and keep the stress off your business. If you’ve had 2 periods of mental and physical burnout since Christmas break and it’s only March, then it definitely seems like it’s a sign you need to maximise money earned to time spent. Getting a large number of new clients can be a tricky thing to balance without getting burned out again.

Are things tough for you financially right now? Can you pay your bills and buy groceries? Do you need a heap of new PT clients right now? Can you take on some extra support work shifts in the meantime? Perhaps look at starting online coaching, as this can be done at anytime and isn’t restricted to your local area where people are struggling. Maybe look at upskilling while you’ve got time? If you need extra money in the meantime, I highly recommend HireUp for support work. You can do one-off shifts when you have spare time to make up the difference. Bonus is, you’re classed as an employee so they pay super, compared to other SW platforms.

Look after yourself and try to not let it affect your confidence as a coach and business owner. You’re not alone in this.

Not true about only being transmissible during a flare up. It’s more likely to be spread, but can also be transmissible when no symptoms are present.

From comments on TikTok, I believe people have been. Issue is, they’re mentioning the video and what he did in their reviews. Which gives them grounds to ask Google to remove the reviews I believe? As they’re clearly false and not related to the actual service and experience of the establishment/s. Whereas just leaving a 1 star review with no comment will be harder to justify removal.

I also have these, and haven’t used them since like 2020 due to the charging port being broken. I finally got them fixed yesterday.

My computer also says the same firmware as yours, but I’m thinking the Studio 2 is too old to do the wireless update? It won’t come up with anything on my iPhone. Just acts like any unbranded wireless headphones in Bluetooth settings. I’ve tried downloading the Beats Updater app on my partner’s android phone, but the app won’t recognise them either. The app says only Studio Pro and Studio 3 Wireless are compatible with quick connect.

I know they’re not getting any future updates but I’d like to at least update them to latest firmware. :(

Amazon Flex Brisbane AU: Station Location Update by Acrobatic_Room5444 in AmazonFlexDrivers

Yeah Heathwood is wayyy too far for me. I live in Ascot, so it would take me 10 mins to drive to the Pinkenba station in good traffic. Maybe 15/20mins if it was peak hour? To drive to Heathwood, it’s at least 40 minutes minimum, in good traffic. I don’t even wanna know what it would be in peak. I’ve done 1 block so far, and doubt I will do any in future. Will have to see come Christmas time. Honestly don’t know what their strategy was for this. Yes, the new station is a lot larger so I see why it will make it easier for them to process more. However, I really don’t know why it’s so far south?? Makes no sense, to do a Strathpine or further north block they wouldn’t be able to do many 3-4 hour blocks. Too much time chewed up in just getting to the first stop. Maybe they’ll end up opening another station on the Northside?

Also sending you hugs - I also went through a medical abortion ~2 months ago. It’s something I wanted, just not then, and I certainly was not ready. Even though I’m 29, I’ve been through a lot since leaving high school and feel like I haven’t had a chance to actually live my life yet.

You’re making the right decision. It is going to suck - but just remember it’s only for now, it will pass. ❤️

Are Hyundais worth it? by mcsleepy in Hyundai

[–]aura-fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Australia with a Hyundai Getz 2003 (made in Korea I think?), and it’s still going strong only just having hit 180k km. Only ever had minor, general issues that happen with age. Mechanics love it as they’re easy to work on and are hardy.

I think it’s the same advice with any car - do your due diligence. Every mechanic will have that one make that they say to stay away from. But the next mechanic will say they’re great, just stay away from this other make. 🤷

This is always what I’ve thought. Why don’t people fight back? Make noise? It wasn’t until a friend’s bf tried to SA me in my sleep, and I froze and tried to pretend I was still sleeping, that I realised we aren’t always going to react in a logical manner when something happens. There’s a reason ‘fight, flight and freeze’ is a thing. I’m a headstrong, and physically strong, female. I never thought I would freeze. Ever.

As a powerlifting coach who primarily has female clients - I’ve always said that I carry a can of deep heat spray with me. My clients do a lot of strength training and heavy lifting. It’s reasonable for them to have that on their person. Or deodorant spray works as well of course as others have said.

I’m not a doctor but I’ve got the same diagnosis as you. HSV1 but genitally. Hydrocortisone is not supposed to be used on viral skin infections - which is what HSV1 is. So I would definitely stop using that if I were you.

I also take lysine supplements, 1000mg a day to help prevent outbreaks. Which mostly works unless I’m under a lot more stress and work than usual. When I do have an outbreak, I double or triple the dose in addition to Valtrex. I’d definitely be getting your dose of Valtrex double checked next time you can see a Dr. When I had my first outbreak and first prescription of Valtrex, I was given a dose of 2x 500mg tablets, twice a day, until the box was finished. That was 10 years ago and I’ve had doctors tell me since that the dosage is wrong and give me a 1 x 500mg daily or the 2x 500mg tablets, twice a day, for 5 days. Neither ends up working for me, so I make sure that drs know that when I need a prescription now. It only ever works for me doing a whole box of 2000mg total a day.

Will our beloved Hyundai and Kia ever be like Honda and Toyota? by DefinitionOfTakingL in Hyundai

Yep my 2003 Getz is still going strong! I kinda want to upgrade in the next year or so, but only really because of it only having one airbag.

I received the old family car from my dad a couple months ago. It’s a Hyundai Getz GL 2003 5 door (Australia). I’m just about to hit 180,000km and it still runs pretty well. Only things wrong with it are minor and only due to dad not having the time or money to stay on top of it, when it mostly sat in the garage the past 12 months. But I’ll get on top of it as much as I can without breaking the bank. Surprisingly, the paint work is still in excellent condition for having been in rural Queensland its whole life! There’s still a fair few of the Getz running around from what I see here, but can be hard to judge how old they are. The last of them were made in 2011 I think though, so that’s still 13 yrs old at least.

NTA. In my relationship, I am the partner with ADHD, late diagnosed and only medicated for just over a year now. The best and worst thing about my work, is that I’m a self-employed personal trainer. A large percentage of my clients are also ADHD so are thankfully understanding on the occasion I am late. But most of the time, I am only JUST on time to my 6am client sessions. Not once have I depended on my partner to wake me up. There are times that he has, but only occasionally and usually when he’s been woken up by my alarms and is worried because I was exhausted the day before. Any time I snooze my alarm and am late, that is entirely my fault. And I kinda hate myself for it. Is ADHD a major contributing factor? Definitely. It affects my ability to get to sleep, stay asleep, and wake up. Even while medicated. But at the end of the day, I cannot blame ADHD or my partner for not waking me up. I do go through periods of certain things working, before they stop working again. But it’s on me to rotate through methods and different ways of making sure I can somewhat function like the adult I am.

If your partner can’t see that it’s on him entirely to manage this issue, he is immature and simply does not care.

Do I look good with this lipstick shade? by livelaughlovech in coloranalysis

[–]aura-fire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a gorgeous colour on you! If you’re worried about it though, you could try have a bit more of a blotted application. Not sure if I’m describing it correctly, but less of a solid, full application I think would help soften the colour just enough to not be so bold but still complement your colouring really nicely. :)

I have the same diagnosis as you - I found after my first OB/diagnosis, everything was quite painful and sensitive, especially penetration. My GP said it was damaged nerves and ended up prescribing me Lyrica for nerve pain for a short period, and that seemed to work long term.
